Spotted the Little Free Library in Maylands when I was taking mon amie française Marie home and as she had just returned to moi the four books I had lent her we stopped to put said four books into the little library and took two out, fair exchange :) I love the idea of these well used little libraries and should imagine for those who can't get to a big library they could be a lifesaver. As yet I have not come across any of these tiny book holders that have been vandalised, one should never underestimate the power of books :) Happy Wednesday, take care and stay safe..
I love them too, Grace. I use them all the time. there has been a couple of them vandalized here but it was a really small percentage of them.
ReplyDeleteI haven't heard of them being vandalised here either. Many are in old phone kiosks, but there's one in our village railway station and I saw one inside a church recently.
ReplyDelete...this "Little" library is rather lage!
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of these, but they are no present in my small town. I wish they were!
ReplyDeleteThe Little Free Libraries in my neighborhood had great choices for a while, but I haven't found any good books in any of them lately. I have no idea why things changed. Your experience looks lucky.

Lovely little library. I'm sure I could find something to read in this one. Not seen one using a fence before, but it is a great idea.
ReplyDeleteThose here are well used and respected as well. Such a great idea!

ReplyDeleteNice to know there are beacons of good everywhere. You are certainly one of them to me. Carry on my dear!
ReplyDeleteDearest Grace,
ReplyDeleteThat is a noble gesture for offering free books!
Hopefully people will close its doors as paper will absorb all the moisture in the air or God forbid; rain...
Hugs,
Mariette
Grace, it's the same here. I've never seen one damaged at all. Interesting isn't it.
ReplyDeleteIt is the best idea ever and so far I haven't seen any damaged, thankfully as they are a blessing to so many young and old!
ReplyDeleteWe even have one of those in our town. But the town south of me, has a little food cabinet. That you can put in non perishable foods. And those who needs food can help there self.
ReplyDeleteCoffee is on and stay safe
Yes, they are life-savers and the one at the TU is finally open again and took a bunch of a Corinna-time-closing from me :-)
ReplyDeleteSadly I found but novels so this time was giving only.
Indeed a very nice new development.
ReplyDeleteIt goes worldwide, we have them too everywhere. I sometimes take one home.

ReplyDeleteWe do have them here as well.
ReplyDeleteThis one looks very well stocked. I have a few I could add to one. I need to do that.
