We were back in Kings Park yesterday to take some shots of The Kids' Bridge (excellent aerial view on link) opened a few weeks ago. The three metre wide, 217-metre long pedestrian bridge provides access from Perth Children's Hospital to Kings Park. A wonderful facility to provide a connection to the restorative powers of nature for sick children, their families and the wider community that work and visit the children's hospital and Queen Elizabeth ll Medical Centre..
The best view from above is on the bridge link at beginning of post but below you can see the bridge crossing busy Winthrop Avenue before disappearing into the native bushland of Kings Park. Please don't stress about the colours, a lot of thought was put into this construction and remember it is all about the sick children, colour makes children happy 💙 I enjoyed walking across, look at all those fabulous future shadow shot possibilities :) Happy Thursday, take care and stay safe..
...a colorful bridge to adventure!
ReplyDeleteWonderful,thanks for the info too!ew:)
ReplyDeleteI think the colours are wonderful and perfect for the kids! And for me too these days - we can all use a bit of cheerfulness. ;-)
ReplyDeletePerth never fails to amaze me. Gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteDearest Grace,
ReplyDeleteSure, for kids, it would work but in general those colors are very disturbing in such a natural environment. There could have been paintings on the lower sections, for the kids...
Sometimes 'adults' use double standards.
Hugs,
Mariette
I think a big kid may have really enjoyed seeing and walking on the bridge.
ReplyDeleteSuch a bright and lovely color of bridge. The kid in me would enjoy this.
ReplyDeleteCoffee is on and stay safe
What a great looking bridge. Perhaps it appeals to more than just children. What great photos you got on this bridge.
ReplyDeleteOhhhh, Grace, it´s really there!! That was quick (here, such a bridge would take at least 5 years, I´m not even kidding).
ReplyDeleteThe hospital itself is very color-and beautiful, too, we got the sexy firefighter-calendar there last time we were allowed to visit you.
Well. I think ALL bridges should be that beautiful. Doesn´t make only children happy (aren´t we all deep inside still kids?).
I´ll tell Ingo to have a look
That is one of the most impressive things I've seen in a long time. It's beautiful and the colors are perfect to brighten the kids lives. I think it brightens adult lives too.
ReplyDeleteP.S. that areal view is stunning.
So colourful , Awesome clicks.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great bridge, very photogenic.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful bridge Grace. A delight for kids and adults too I'm sure.
ReplyDeleteA very nice bridge but so close to a childrens hospital I suspect some connection.
ReplyDeleteUm passadiço bem colorido, gostei.
ReplyDeleteUm abraço e continuação de uma boa semana.

Thank you, for this wonderful photos.
Btw, I used to enjoy a Daily Photo site, which was put up by a man in Paris. Long ago now. -smile-
