The power of the Y..

."We believe in the power of inspired young people"..

Just a few of the vibrant murals on the walls of the Y HQ in Leederville. 'On June 6, 1844, as the Industrial Revolution was coming to an end and despair and poverty was widespread the YMCA, originally founded in England with a simple belief: that through mutual support the community could gain renewed strength in body, mind and spirit. While the focus  in those early days was on the welfare of young men these days the YMCA is more inclusive, but that simple belief still holds firm'. Quite right! Youth Services, Child Care, Health and Wellness, Community Services.. just a few of the activities that happen surrounded on the outside by energetic, striking art. Hope you had/are still having a good weekend, take care and stay safe..
