Remembrance Day Service..

I hadn't seen the emu plumes in the slouch hat before, the story goes like THIS. I was so pleased that we did make it to the Remembrance Day Service in Kings Park yesterday. Not surprisingly a much smaller crowd than usual and although WA is lucky to be free of Covid at this point, social distancing to some degree is still practiced. The kookaburras in Kings Park were raucous but can you believe at 11am during the minute of silence, they also fell silent.. you might not believe me but it happened :)

Below the big guns were out, made my Olympus look a wee bit puny :)

As well as Remembrance Day yesterday it would also have been my father's birthday, always remembered and very much missed. We take great care to remember the young men and women who die in battle but we often forget those who come home. To experience the horrors of war is something that most of us couldn't even begin to imagine and must leave a profound effect on those once happy, carefree young souls, one that many can sadly never forget . Happy Thursday, take care and stay safe..

    1. A GREAT SPELL CASTER (DR. EMU) THAT HELP ME BRING BACK MY EX GIRLFRIEND.
Am so happy to testify about a great spell caster that helped me when all hope was lost for me to unite with my ex-girlfriend that I love so much. I had a girlfriend that love me so much but something terrible happen to our relationship one afternoon when her friend that was always trying to get to me was trying to force me to make love to her just because she was been jealous of her friend that i was dating and on the scene my girlfriend just walk in and she thought we had something special doing together, i tried to explain things to her that her friend always do this whenever she is not with me and i always refuse her but i never told her because i did not want the both of them to be enemies to each other but she never believed me. She broke up with me and I tried times without numbers to make her believe me but she never believed me until one day i heard about the DR. EMU and I emailed him and he replied to me so kindly and helped me get back my lovely relationship that was already gone for two months.

  3. The ceremonies here were very different from the norm. Social distancing and masks plus the public was asked not to come but to watch on TV instead.

  4. Dearest Grace,
Your final lines are so true! A sad fact that many return home with a scarred soul and struggle with that for the rest of their life.
Husband Pieter served but not at war time; his older brothers did...
We have had for four years now a President that has not been engaged in any war; what a blessing to so many.
    Hugs,
    Mariette

  5. Grace, you have an excellent Remembrance Day post. It is also Veterans Day here in the U.S. My Dad fought in WWII as a Corporal attached to a medical unit. They set up mobile aid stations along the front lines. Good to honor those who served in the name of freedom.

  8. I bet it was a very moving ceremony. And, I think those kookaburra's instinctively knew it was time to be quiet.

  13. I watched our National Remembrance Service on the telly, but I wished I could be at our local ceremony as usual, but Mr Covid has changed the arrangements for this year. Yes, we honour the dead, but we mustn't forget the living who came home. You had a very handsome dad!!!!!

  15. Well, you have to have a joke always, "kangaroo feathers"! 🦘🦘
Those beautiful birds (I just have to look up and see three) aren´t dumb. Bet they felt something special was going on.

Indeed I did know about the white and purple poppies, thank you for showing, Grace.

Yes, often those who made it back are forgotten Ingo´s Great-Grandfather could never eat bread again and woke each night from nightmares.
Your Dad was a handsome man. 🧡💛

  17. There was only 20 of us at the service here on the 11th but I am also glad that we went. The mayor seemed very happy that we had shown up. Have a good week Diane
