The Grumpy Sailor.. still the best name for a cafe in a port city :) last seen HERE on the blog. While many small eateries have struggled to keep afloat during this extraordinary year of covid The Grumpy Sailor has downsized and moved, not far from it's original spot but much closer to the traffic flow from Freo's High Street. Gone is the quirky decor, the shelves of books, couches and armchairs but the important things are still the same, excellent coffee and delicious bagels.. a huge favourite with locals and visitors to the port city, a move that has passed with flying colours. Happy Thursday, take care and stay safe..
It looks great in this new place. No clutter is good for these times. I did like seeing the books in your earlier post.
ReplyDeleteDearest Grace,
ReplyDeleteThat is a positive message about a food related business.
So many had to quit...
Hugs,
Mariette
A good name it is.
ReplyDeleteGlad to know this quirky cafe is surviving. I would be grumpy too if a giant octopus were reaching over my shoulder for my coffee and phone. Did you know that an octopus has a separate brain for each arm?
ReplyDeleteQuite a different look but it works well. Did you buy a t-shirt?
ReplyDeleteThat is using your common sense an sounds like it was a good move
ReplyDeleteWhat a face!
ReplyDeleteGood to see the business not only is surviving the virus, but able to relocate also. That's a neat face on the mural, too.
ReplyDeleteMy favourite coffee spot has changed but all the important things are still there. Good news!
ReplyDelete...we all need to adapt.
ReplyDeletePlaces need to adapt or go under in these tough times.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to hear that it has found a way to success in these strained times. I might add that I'd be grumpy too if I had an octopus hanging around my neck.
ReplyDeleteMaybe The Grumpy Sailor should merge with The Lucky Shag and the world will be a better place.
ReplyDeleteAdaptation! Love you Mom ami ❣️,
ReplyDeleteGood for them, but I notice the young man in the sunglasses is not wearing a mask.
ReplyDeleteNice to hear business success stories. Cute place.
ReplyDeleteAwwww, Grace. Am I glad I visited the old place, it was so fun! Sad they had to do this to survive.
ReplyDeleteHope they make it.
ReplyDeleteAdapt to survive.
ReplyDeleteMy kind of places!!!
ReplyDeleteIt is for every business a disaster these days....
ReplyDeleteIt looks like a nice place Grace. My friend has those colourful chairs on her patio.
ReplyDeleteSounds like they have done the right thing and they must sell yummy food.
ReplyDeleteCool place and I'm think that Grumpy sailor can be warmed up! Is that a smile he's got ready to show off?!
