I must admit I was in a bit of a quandary as to how to capture an image depicting 'kindness', the November theme for City Daily Photo bloggers. The answer, a particularly personal one, came in the form of the brand new sculpture at City Beach by local artist Simon Youngleson. Commissioned by Donate Life as part of their wider social media awareness campaign designed to encourage community discussion around organ and tissue donation. The artist hopes that 'as people interact with the sculpture it will remind us to celebrate life and reflect on the selfless generosity of organ and tissue donors'. Several years ago my younger sister was in need of a kidney transplant, thankfully her husband was a match and although most Australians support organ donation only 1 in 3 are registered organ donors, it's one of those difficult conversations that we don't have but really should. Happy Monday, take care and stay safe..

I´m a donor since... 10 years or such (Ingo as well) and no one ever needed any of us (speaking of bone marrow). Good on your family-match!!!
ReplyDeleteBut with kindness, you sure hit the jackpot, Grace, giving me the most biggest smile of the weekend!!
Sooo...ooooo looking forward to sexy men (and women (for Ingo)) and kindness to Perth´s Children - maybe you can make the sexy guys make contact to feuerwehr@braunschweig.de and they ask them to follow this example?
Awww, Grace! My smile hurts my face and Ingo just grinned the biggest! xoxo
You picked a perfect example of kindness, Grace.
ReplyDelete...being kind is the way to be!
ReplyDeleteI agree. Your photo choice is a perfect example of kindness. Thank you for sharing this and bravo Simon Youngleson for this inspired sculpture.
ReplyDeleteThat is a wonderful one for the theme, Grace!
ReplyDeletePerfect for the theme, Grace.
ReplyDeleteGreat for the theme day Grace. Even better than my free candy!
ReplyDeleteDearest Grace,
ReplyDeleteYes, for quite a while we both have that information on our diver's license. It IS important!
We know a person who received a donor liver and also a girl that lived for several years with a donor lung...
Hugs,
Mariette
Great sculpture, and I think you nailed the theme.
ReplyDeleteHi Grace, I notice you did not share your theme post on the CDP theme day page. Most likely because the page moved this month. The current page address is https://www.citydailyphoto.org/category/theme-days/
ReplyDeleteGreat photo
ReplyDeleteThe first looks great with the tree backdrop. I am a registered donor and everyone knows it. The sister of our friend who had a heart transplant has just had a kidney transplant after two year of dialysis. Tragic that they were both saved by young men killed in car crashes, but saved they were.
ReplyDeleteLook like they're made of wood
ReplyDeleteStay Safe and Coffee is on
What a beautiful sculpture with such an important message. Good choice for the theme.
ReplyDeleteAmazing sculpture, Thanks for the post.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty sculpture Grace, well found for the theme.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful sculptures Grace. It certainly is an important message, something we've never talked about in our household.
ReplyDeleteLove this sculpture, beautiful. I am a registered donor and wear a bracelet to say so. Have a good week and stay safe, Diane
ReplyDeleteCes sculptures en bois sont absolument magnifiques, et ces paysages solaires font vraiment envie...
ReplyDeleteThat is a creative take on the theme, Grace!
ReplyDeletePerfect for the theme.
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
Really nice sculpture. Here there's a box to fill out when you get a driver's license for if you want to be an organ donor. I signed up but I hope I don't pass on my allergies to a patient that way. There are so many of them; it is a real problem planning meals.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful sculpture
ReplyDeleteA GREAT SPELL CASTER (DR. EMU) THAT HELP ME BRING BACK MY EX GIRLFRIEND.
ReplyDeleteAm so happy to testify about a great spell caster that helped me when all hope was lost for me to unite with my ex-girlfriend that I love so much. I had a girlfriend that love me so much but something terrible happen to our relationship one afternoon when her friend that was always trying to get to me was trying to force me to make love to her just because she was been jealous of her friend that i was dating and on the scene my girlfriend just walk in and she thought we had something special doing together, i tried to explain things to her that her friend always do this whenever she is not with me and i always refuse her but i never told her because i did not want the both of them to be enemies to each other but she never believed me. She broke up with me and I tried times without numbers to make her believe me but she never believed me until one day i heard about the DR. EMU and I emailed him and he replied to me so kindly and helped me get back my lovely relationship that was already gone for two months.
