Same place different face..

Shortly after I posted the original mural below, by Perth mural and installation artist Daek William back in 2016 I read that it had been vandalised. Unfazed the artist said 'in the end it's just a bit of paint in an environment where it's open to be damaged. You've just got to toughen up a bit and get back there and fix it up'. Fix it up he has, I did smile though, in the first mural below it's all about dreaming, above, snapped when we were in Maylands last week it's more like 'just try it I've got my eyes on you'.. wish I'd moved the bins as I did before :) Happy Tuesday, take care and stay safe..

  2. Thay are both excellent, but a sad story. Sorry I am not visiting so often but our WiFi is slower than slow at present and to visit your blogs it is taking me anything between 15 and 30 mins to download each blog, It is pathetic and very frustrating. We are between 0.1 and 0.3. Normal is slow at 0.5 but we cannot even get that at present!
    Keep safe Diane

  3. I love them both. It's sad that someone feels like they have to deface a piece of art. What a great attitude the artist has though.

  4. His comment makes his work sound effortless. It was a great job, both times.

  8. They're both beautiful, but I especially like the one where she's dreaming, seeing I'm fascinated by dreams. It's truly a shame that that one was vandalized.

  13. Thankfully the second is even more beautiful, but, bummer.
Grace, I will never understand how others can get at such work and destroy it. Is that plain jealousy?
Hope this one stays intact for a loooong time.
    Respect we need.

  15. That is so stupid, people who have no respect for artworks and feel the need to destroy them.

  20. Sorry I'm late visiting, Grace. I love the artist's attitude and that he was able to repair it and make something a bit different where it had been vandalized. It's a glorious new entry, even with the trash cans in front of it.
