Not even a thundery sky could diminish the fabulousness of the Regal Theatre in Subiaco. A vision in pink this piece of Art Deco architecture is always a joy to see. Named after King George Vl the official opening in 1938 was described as a glamorous affair.. I can just imagine it, wish I had been there :) You can read about it's history HERE. Considered one of the most important examples of Art Deco in WA I think the safety of this pink beauty is quite secure. Happy Wednesday, take care and stay safe..
One can't go wrong with Art Deco
ReplyDelete...and REGAL it is!
ReplyDeleteThat is gorgeous, Grace!
ReplyDeleteI'm a huge fan of art deco and this is lovely!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful Art Deco building. So glad it is still in use as a theater. Our Art Deco movie theater has become a dance studio. Love the pink color.
ReplyDeleteWow. Yes, love that outpost of Stars!
ReplyDeleteWhat an Art Deco beauty! What a gorgeous building. Just my kind of place.
ReplyDeleteP.S. No, I'm not a twin. Mom just dressed us alike on some occasions.
Art Deco at its finest!
ReplyDeleteThe colours are well thought out and the addition of a little blue is good.
ReplyDeleteLove it. There are lots of rather neglected Art Deco cinemas in this country, a lot of which are protected but no use can be found for them. We just have too many old buildings to care for them all and buildings less than 100 years old are just not considered important.
ReplyDeleteOh, Grace, I so had to laugh!
ReplyDeleteI had a pink phase in my life, two, actually, I must´ve looked like a pig! I love art deco, also and 1938... good year, without that I wouldn´t have been able to visit you (my Dad was born in May then).
AND. I always thought you blog via smartphone, but guess what I found out!!! Did I mention I´m an IT´ler?! I had no idea but by accident hit the windows-button combined with the dot éeeeeeet voilà! 👀 Here those thingys are! Booooy, do I feel dumb!!! 🤣 😎
A classic style.
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice theater, so well looking from the past.
ReplyDeleteGreat to see a wonderful old building like that. Art Deco is much nicer than the plain looking things built today. We've a chain of movie theaters here named Regal. I wonder if there is any connection.
ReplyDeleteWe have lost many of the buildings that were in the Art Deco style, either to the wrecking ball or to new trendier facades that were stuck onto them in the 50s and 60s. It's nice to see one that's in its original state.
ReplyDeletebe well... mae at maefood.blogspot.com
It's a beautiful building Grace.
ReplyDeleteLooks a bit americana that theatre.
ReplyDeleteWow!
ReplyDeleteAmazing.
All the best Jan
Beautiful
ReplyDeleteThere are so many art deco theatres across the country. It is good to see them looking smart rather than run down.
