Walking along King Street in the city yesterday I noticed a detail that had slipped me by.. the sculptural signage above the old entrance to the Amateur Sports Club (heritage listed Monash House) opened in 1903. As I clicked a gorgeous young lady in sneakers and track-pants strode into the shot, a 2019 nod to the sporting past :) Looking back down King Street, the luxury end of town.. to me the luxury is that these beautiful old buildings are still standing here 💛 Happy Thursday, take care and stay safe.. P.s. would have loved to see the sporting outfits worn here in 1903 :)
Both are good takes, Grace!
ReplyDeleteThat young lady is perfect in that first pic, Grace! Those same stores are found here along Bloor St but not in wonderful old buildings like those ones.
ReplyDelete...Serendipitous, I've always enjoy that word.
ReplyDeleteTwo great photographs …
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
Love that top photo. How many women would have been in that club in 1903 I wonder?
ReplyDeleteLovely street captures!
ReplyDeleteAs here, the high end labels like to be classic old buildings.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it wonderful when a convenient model strides into a photo?
ReplyDeleteAnd those old buildings: what beauties they are!
Yes to all, Grace, what a "happy" coincidence - and yes. I had to look up "Serendipitous", too! ;-)
ReplyDeleteTeacher, you!
1903... women and sport, hmmm... I bet they were fighters in more than one way.
Captured just on the right moment. Thats the spirit. Looks like a crowded street.
ReplyDeleteGreat shots and such nice weather to be strolling King Street.
ReplyDeleteBelos olhares.
ReplyDeleteUm abraço e continuação de uma boa semana.

ReplyDeleteYou have a wonderful eye, G!
ReplyDeleteLovely old building, what is it used for now?
ReplyDeleteOh! That is a beautiful street!
ReplyDeleteBut I had caught by the car (Aston Martin, well-known as a James Bond's Car)!
