Grand (Theatre) Lane off Barrack Street in the city is vibrant with street art. The 99m of fabulousness here painted in 2010 by Victorian artists Scottie Neoh and Hiroyasu Tsuri aka Bonsai and Twoone during the City of Perth's 'Forgotten Spaces' project.. creating spaces to explore into otherwise uninviting laneways. The other side of the laneway, which I'll keep for another time, is abundant in art of a completely different style. I added the shot below left with man walking by to show size. You might say Grand lane is a bit shabby, which of course makes it super cool :) Happy Tuesday, take care and stay safe..
...these surely brighten up a shabby lane.
ReplyDeleteIt is a monumental and coloourful mural.I particularly like the very stylized owl at the top of the second picture
ReplyDeleteWe need more of this in the US.
ReplyDeleteThat's a great mural. Beautiful, big and colourful.
ReplyDeleteLove walking down art alleys. This is a good one.
ReplyDeleteThere's a lot of artistic creativity going on here. It makes a space that people would tend to avoid, a destination.
ReplyDeleteIt would be just a boring service lane way without that great art, Grace! It certainly doesn't look shabby to me - you should see some of the lanes I wander down - I do sometimes hesitate.
ReplyDeleteGrand murals even if Grand Lane itself is not particularly grand.
ReplyDeleteStunning murals, you really have an amazing collection in and around Perth. Take care Diane
ReplyDeleteA good idea to have the shot with the person in the scene. The colours are gorgeous!

ReplyDeleteAren't they all so good. It is hard to choose a favourite.
ReplyDeleteThat is a beauty. I love the way laneways are decorated.
ReplyDeleteSo gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, Grace - and it reminds me... I had no desinfectant with me, hence I have a pic of a mural with a bin, too :-)
ReplyDeleteNo. To be honest... you were not there and I did not brave up to move the darn thing.
Birds and Street Art are right up my alley! Interesting they are Victorian artists I will look out for them when next in Melbourne. They certainly give the laneways a bit of spark.
ReplyDeleteWren x
The grungier the laneway the better the art ... it is like that in Melbourne too.
ReplyDeleteThat is quite a mural!
ReplyDeleteThose birds are terrific! The world needs more giant murals in my opinion.
ReplyDeleteFabulous mural Grace. Thanks for contributing.
