You've probably guessed by now that water activities rank high up there on the list of favourite ways to pass the time in WA, whether it be along the coast or on the Swan River. From a really long way off I spotted the Paddle Steamer Decoy heading up towards and under the Narrows Bridge. The PS Decoy built in 1986, a duplicate of the Scottish PS Decoy built in 1878, is such a fun way to cruise the river, day or night, private or open event.. check out the swing and razzamatazz fun here.. so cool! In the background you can see the rise of Kings Park and the rooftops of the Old Brewery. Note to myself.. add to list of things still to do in Perth :) Happy Wednesday, take care and stay safe...
I appreciate the symmetry of the light rail train photo. Thats a very well timed shot.

Wow excellent capture and what a fun and exciting way to spend time on the water too!
ReplyDeleteWe don't have a boat like that in these parts!
ReplyDeleteLots of action on the water and even some dancing with the link you provided. Fun things to do fun places to go. Nice images Grace!
ReplyDeleteLooks like there isn't much room to spare getting under the bridge.
ReplyDeleteThis reminds me of when I worked in Chicago, there were so many ways to enjoy Lake Michigan. Two or three times, I joined groups for outings on the water but, sadly no paddle-steamers. I love that shot where you caught the light rail train on the bridge.
ReplyDeleteDer Raddampfer ist klasse.
ReplyDeleteI would love a trip on that paddle steamer! It has such an 'easy-going' look.
ReplyDeleteI am fascinated by paddle steamers - my father was in the merchant navy as an engineer and travelled the world in the engine room, I cannot imagine what it was like on days when the water was rough and the smell of oil etc. but he enjoyed his work and was never ill. Then he tried a trip on a paddle steamer, the result was not good and he was sea sick the whole trip :-) Its a funny world. Love your photos. Diane
ReplyDeleteGrace, terrific photos of this wonderful paddle steam boat. How fine that it has been recreated. Would love to spend a day cruising on a boat like this.
ReplyDeleteWonderful photo, my friend. Love those old steam boats, even if they're "decoys," and I'd take dinner on one of them anytime. What a great river is the Swan!
ReplyDeleteYou will have to try it one day, Grace!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cruise that would be, though it does look like it has hit the bridge!
ReplyDeleteWouldn't it be wonderful to cruise along the river in a paddle steam boat ...
ReplyDeleteLove your photographs
All the best Jan
Looks lovely, especially as we descend into winter.
ReplyDeleteHow evocative of another time!
ReplyDeleteLindo gosto muito destes barcos.
ReplyDeleteUm abraço e continuação de boa semana.

I have been on several paddle steamers...and it is always a treat. I even went to a luncheon where everyone was dressed in period costumes.
ReplyDeleteI love those boattrips, you see so much while just sitting.
ReplyDeletearen't these old timey boats the best?!
ReplyDeleteOh, yes, a lot of fun, Grace!
ReplyDeleteI love being in or near the water. I swim like a rock, but I still love it!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos Grace. I love how blue the water is!
ReplyDeleteUhhhhhhhhh, you're sure that boat is going to fit under that bridge? I see a decapitation coming on.
