Yesterday was a fine day for a regatta.. the inaugural Elizabeth Quay Sprint Regatta, head-to-head 200mt sprint races. Starting at 11am and hopefully through to 3pm, although when we left at noon the breeze was coming up strongly, making rowing conditions a bit tricky. It always amazes me how the colour of the water changes when the weather is a bit dodgy.. a few dark clouds overhead can make all the difference. Happy weekend, take care and stay safe...
A great setting to be rowing in!
ReplyDeleteI don't know, Grace, but your photography makes me want to applaud loudly enough for you to hear way off in Perth. Just love the setting here and the water and the rowers and everything and you captured it all in color and b&w and made it all come alive and for that I say "Merci Beaucoup !"
ReplyDeleteThat bridge looks like is is going to fall over.
ReplyDeleteYou folks are the best watermen!

ReplyDeletePerth is such a perfect blend of the old and the new!
Awesome photos
ReplyDeleteYou managed to capture the action perfectly, Grace!
ReplyDeleteGood weather and lots of spectators. Looks like a great fun event to watch and cheer for the racers! I know what you mean Grace when you say the water colour changes with the weather even if it's wind. ai seen blue turn to gray and sometimes black.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the day!
Quite a few people there and it is the sort of event that will become bigger each year. It's good that you were there for the first. The headline for this post is clever and quite true.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great event in a spectacular location! Great photos!
ReplyDeleteThe close-up of the rowers illustrate the beautiful rhythm of the sport and the teamwork that is needed for success in the water.
ReplyDeleteYour weather is looking good while we just get colder! Your heading reminded me of one night coming home from the pub crossing the Hunyani river in good old Rhodesian days. Rocking the boat and the youngest went over board! How stupid can you get when there are crocodiles in the river, thankfully all was well! Never the less they were the best years of my life. Keep well Diane
ReplyDeleteThat looks like it was a great event, Grace! You do get out and about so much!!
ReplyDeleteThe sky and water change hourly and make great pics.
ReplyDeleteThe regatta looks fun.
great shots
ReplyDeleteGreat shots Grace.
ReplyDeleteI can't imagine the coordination it takes to do this since that is, um, not one of my strengths. Particularly like the composition in the last picture.
ReplyDeleteThose oresmen make great patterns for your photos. Hope they all had fun.
ReplyDeleteI bet they sure get a work out...Coffee is on
ReplyDeleteSuper variety of perspectives in these photos of the event. The bridge is lovely.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful background for a regatta Grace! I was there today for an ice-cream and a bit of relaxation.
ReplyDeleteYou made some excellent photos of the regatta, those people lined up on the bridge, beautiful.
ReplyDeleteSTRONG people.
ReplyDeleteNice action shots.
Good to see SUMMER from where I am and where it is cold.
Great photos! This is one of those things we don't see here very often. I do see people practicing out on Tempe Town Lake every now and then but, I've never heard of a race before.
ReplyDeleteI still have trouble liking that place, Grace...
ReplyDeleteGreat photos, Grace!
ReplyDeleteA good mix of sport and architecture photography.
Beautiful photos Grace! It seems that there is always something happening in Perth.
