Reflection of the Brass Monkey.. formerly the Great Western Hotel, on the corner of William and James St. in Northbridge. Built during the gold rush in 1896 in the Federation Filigree style it was considered one of the most lavish hotels built during that period.. shouldn't those monkeys be made of gold, not brass :) Now it's a local favourite in Northbridge, I've had a shandy or two there myself on a hot summers day :) Happy weekend, take care and stay safe...
You seem to have captured more than one reflection with your photo.

Love the reflection; what a grand hotel! I wonder what the rooms are like...
ReplyDeleteWhat a grand old looking place, Grace. Love those reflections too. Looks far too warm though. Are you familiar with the expression, "Cold enough to freeze the balls off a brass monkey?" - or is that a British thing? (It originated in the Royal Navy).
ReplyDeleteWhat a delightful place.
ReplyDeleteLovely hotel and I love this reflection.
ReplyDeleteFicou fantástico o reflexo.

ReplyDeleteThat is a wonderful looking hotel. Looks like it could be from an American western movie.
ReplyDeleteAnd noes the neighboring building have a spa for people with a lisp?
ReplyDeleteA stately buildign. And the reflection colours and light and shadow are so pretty.
ReplyDeleteA very nice reflection of a special corner building.
ReplyDeleteIf I saw a photo of this place without any explanation, I'd guess it was in Australia. There is just something about that style that seems true to that location.
ReplyDeleteDo you know what they say about brass monkeys here in the Great White North?
ReplyDeleteI like the look of the place!
ReplyDeleteIngo says, sitting by my side: The Brass is a fun place and yummy.
ReplyDeleteI have to add the bar-keeper looks like Speaker of the Muppets :-)
Hmmm... we´ll enjoy soon.
I love this building!
ReplyDeleteThe hotel is handsome and one that sparks a little bit of envy in your viewers. Who wouldn't want to be a guest here?!
ReplyDeleteBrass Monkey. Reminds me of the whiskey I used to drink in Montana.
ReplyDeleteI love the reflection! Looks like a nice place to walk around.
