I haven't yet snapped all of the bovine beauties in the 'Cow Parade' but am mega impressed with the creativeness of the cows I've seen so far. Alice is 'wonderful'.. the artwork on her ample flanks incroyable! Painted by Lance Chadd, aka internationally acclaimed Nyoongar/Yamatji artist Tjyllyungoo, take a look at his work on canvas here. Inspired by his father and all the Aboriginal stock-men 'who were not just known for their multiple skills with horses and cattle, they were also men of culture and law, having strong connections, knowledge and responsibility for their country'..
It seems right that Alice should stand here looking out over the Perth Cultural Centre, surrounded by the art gallery, the museum, the State Library and State Records Office, all containing a fund of information about Australia's first inhabitants.. Doesn't that burnished derriere look wonderful in the WA sunshine! Happy Monday, take care and stay safe...
Alice is without doubt a Bonny Beautiful Bovine! Gorgeous artwork, I wish I was as talented as that.
ReplyDeleteMoooovalous.
ReplyDeleteThis is very nice. The cow is very similar to our Ocala horses...sort of the same idea. And they do dress up the area in a fun way. Actually, I found this cow very mooooving.
ReplyDeleteThe cows are beauties. Nice art by some very talented artists. When I lived in Oregon, they had a similar program where the artists painted pelicans. Businesses would sponsor an artist and then when the artist completed the painting, they would be able to display it in their business for a year. It was popular and gave a lot of exposure to the program, sponsor and artist.
ReplyDeleteI went to the cow parade website and poked around and found this: Triple Donut and Choc-coated Bacon Shake and then wondered who would actually drink/eat something like that.
Have a nice week Grace!
Haven't come across these cows before - and they are beautiful. (Mind, I arrive already liking cows - the originals - so I'm off to a good start.
