It's a huge weekend in Perth. Channel 7's Telethon 2016, 'the highest fund raising Telethon (per capita) in the world' kicked off yesterday with community events around the city and suburbs. I took these shots of a promo for Bendigo Bank Kids Carnival for Telethon a few weeks ago at Elizabeth Quay. The above shot was the end result of many..'take one, take two, take ten action' :) The coming together of so many characters culminating in a big hurrah at the end was fun to watch, even more fun was watching the many parents in the background trying to get their children to be super animated.. I thought it best to leave them out :)
It was an unexpected and colourful event on a bit of a dull day.. as at 11.30 pm last night they had reached a total of over 10 million dollars with the whole of Sunday to go.. very impressive Perthites, so proud of you! Hoping to get into the city today to visit a few of the Perth Heritage Days 2016 events.. Hope you are having a fab weekend, happy Sunday, take care and stay safe...
Hmmm, I see Darth Vader, Iron Man, and I think Wolverine in that mix. A curious trio.
ReplyDeleteVader's hard to miss, even in a crowd!
ReplyDeleteWhat great fun! And it made some fun and colorful shots!
ReplyDeleteAs I work in a school I get involved in these events quite regularly - in fact I dread the day coming around! Respect to all those who raise such huge amounts.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great event. The colour really stands out in the grayness of the day.
ReplyDeleteA great fund-raising event for sure, Grace! You get out & about so much!
ReplyDeleteSo colourful - and all in a great cause.
ReplyDeleteGreat shots, Grace, and Kudos to the generosity of the Perthians (Perthites? Perthpeople?)
ReplyDeleteI like to ride the coattails of other photographers and sneak my own photos, just like these.
A beautiful fall day here before a stretch of Indian summer.
ReplyDeleteA beautiful fall day here before a stretch of Indian summer.
ReplyDeleteJust love all the colours - hope the cause is well supported again.
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
High energy!
ReplyDeleteI never expected to see Tinkerbell and a Transformer together. Olivier has posted pictures of France's telethon, which is apparently based in Evry. It used to be a big deal in the US but is long gone.
ReplyDeletePerth constantly amazes me. What a plethora of fun things you have going on there. So glad to hear that the telethon raised so much money! And your photos were a colorful and bright way to start me day! Merci!
ReplyDeleteAlways something great going on in Perth, Grace :-)
ReplyDeleteFunny photos of all the characters and their parents.
ReplyDeletethey raised quite a bit! looks like a fun time for the kids too!
ReplyDeleteYou really nailed that first photo.
ReplyDeleteWhat great fun :-)
