Colour me a rainbow.....!

Without a doubt Perth would have been one of the most colourful cities anywhere this weekend.. kicking off with the 'Pride Parade' (which unfortunately I just missed) and the 'Day of the Dead' festival (yesterdays post) both in Northbridge on Saturday and the 'Festival of Lights' celebrating the festival of ' Diwali' Saturday and Sunday in the Supreme Gardens (show you tomorrow) and beginning early on a very windy morning yesterday with the Colour Run in Langley Park, possibly the most colourful of all! The event finished with the runners participating in a mass 'colour throw'..I had to take these shots and retreat pronto to avoid being engulfed in a puff of paint powder! The last shot is the 'cheer squad' geeing up the thousands of runners at the start line...to be honest I'm looking forward to a quiet week :) how about you? Happy Monday, take care.....

  4. Another super collection, Grace! I do so feel a part of all the fun. The variety of images really does tell the story. I am hoping for a uneventful week :). John's back is sorted but my leg muscles are sore from that climb up the Cathedral tower, ha ha! You have a lovely week ahead.

  8. wow amazing images!Looks so funny, and I love the energy and happy colors! However I can't imagine myself there as I have so bad bronchitis and even the wind sometimes give me allergies.

  12. As far as I know, we don't have a celebration for 'Day of the Dead' and I think there were some Diwali celebrations last weekend, but no throwing of colour. As was explained to me last night, Indians want to be with their families for Diwali and not out in public places.

  14. Well, the "Colour Run" sure gave you lots of great photo opportunities, but I don't get the point.

    Very truly yours,

  15. Wonderful shots. This appears to be a for-profit business producing these events all over the U.S. and Australia. As you know, I've photographed it in St. Louis and Birmingham (in pouring rain). "Scream if you're happy" just about sums it up.

  19. That burst of rainbow colour would bring a smile to everyone's face Grace. Gee you have had a busy time. The day of the dead followed by the Gay Pride festivities.

  21. Amazing!! Just Amazing!! I bet some of that color got to you - wonderful shots. This year the run supported Perth based charity the Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation, to help raise funds towards vital medical equipment and services for children. As of Sunday afternoon, runners had raised funds, just shy of $30,000.
