Without a doubt Perth would have been one of the most colourful cities anywhere this weekend.. kicking off with the 'Pride Parade' (which unfortunately I just missed) and the 'Day of the Dead' festival (yesterdays post) both in Northbridge on Saturday and the 'Festival of Lights' celebrating the festival of ' Diwali' Saturday and Sunday in the Supreme Gardens (show you tomorrow) and beginning early on a very windy morning yesterday with the Colour Run in Langley Park, possibly the most colourful of all! The event finished with the runners participating in a mass 'colour throw'..I had to take these shots and retreat pronto to avoid being engulfed in a puff of paint powder! The last shot is the 'cheer squad' geeing up the thousands of runners at the start line...to be honest I'm looking forward to a quiet week :) how about you? Happy Monday, take care.....

I saw loads of "painted" runners going into the train station on Sunday afternoon. It must have been fun!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely lots of color, not sure I would want to be breathing that air though.
ReplyDeleteLooks like lots of colorful fun to me!!! Great shots -- the next best thing to being there!! Happy Diwali!!
ReplyDeleteAnother super collection, Grace! I do so feel a part of all the fun. The variety of images really does tell the story. I am hoping for a uneventful week :). John's back is sorted but my leg muscles are sore from that climb up the Cathedral tower, ha ha! You have a lovely week ahead.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great and colorful fun to me, beautiful captures, Grace!
ReplyDeleteSooo many parades and festivals in Perth, no wonder you are stressed :))
We went and photographed the 'Color Me Rad' run last spring. It was soooo much fun. We are going to participate next year.
ReplyDeleteOh, that looks like sooooo much fun!
ReplyDeletewow amazing images!Looks so funny, and I love the energy and happy colors! However I can't imagine myself there as I have so bad bronchitis and even the wind sometimes give me allergies.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your beautiful pictures!
Léia
Now someone looks like she's screaming! :-) I said it yesterday, I won't repeat it, lol, that would be tiresome... I wish we had stuff like this here!
ReplyDeleteEveryone looks so happy! ;-))
ReplyDeleteWOW....these colored shots are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteGreetings, Joop
Looks fun and those are great colours. Makes me think of a soap powder advert for some reason!
ReplyDeleteAs far as I know, we don't have a celebration for 'Day of the Dead' and I think there were some Diwali celebrations last weekend, but no throwing of colour. As was explained to me last night, Indians want to be with their families for Diwali and not out in public places.
ReplyDeleteThese are great!
ReplyDeleteAmazing worlds of colourful happiness. The first three photos reminded me of rebel fairy floss.
ReplyDeleteWell, the "Colour Run" sure gave you lots of great photo opportunities, but I don't get the point.
ReplyDeleteVery truly yours,
Your curmudgeonly friend
It looks like a glorious mess!
ReplyDeleteWonderful shots. This appears to be a for-profit business producing these events all over the U.S. and Australia. As you know, I've photographed it in St. Louis and Birmingham (in pouring rain). "Scream if you're happy" just about sums it up.
ReplyDeleteOh wow, that is colour! What fun, but I would not want to be under that dust! You once again captured some marvellous shots Grace! Joy x
ReplyDeleteOkay, that looks like so much fun! What an amazing amount of events your city has going on.
ReplyDeleteThat sure looks like a lot of fun, Grace! :-)
ReplyDeleteJust a week too early, I´d say...
That burst of rainbow colour would bring a smile to everyone's face Grace. Gee you have had a busy time. The day of the dead followed by the Gay Pride festivities.
ReplyDeleteGives new meaning to the expression "painting the town". Terrific shots!
ReplyDeleteAmazing!! Just Amazing!! I bet some of that color got to you - wonderful shots. This year the run supported Perth based charity the Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation, to help raise funds towards vital medical equipment and services for children. As of Sunday afternoon, runners had raised funds, just shy of $30,000.
ReplyDeleteO, do you ever can clean the clothes with all that coloured powder?
ReplyDeleteAmazingly fun. I guess a lot of showers that. Certainly been a lot of funny. This is good.
ReplyDeletehow fun! you got some great colorful pics of it!
ReplyDeleteI don't like quiet weeks either but you're having way too much fun down there!
ReplyDeleteDuncan In Kuantan
I don't know if I've ever seen anything so colorful! it was like a color riot!
ReplyDeletePerth looks like a city with many smiling, happy people!
ReplyDeleteLooks like so much fun!
ReplyDeleteLiz
Oh, what fun, great series here Grace.
ReplyDeleteThe first three shots are amazing!
ReplyDeleteThe joy of colours! Arianna
