The official seven week Perth City Festival of Christmas celebrations kicked off in a burst of colour last night, with the official turning on of the Christmas lights which also incorporates a new series of light projections created by 'The Electric Canvas' shown against one of my favourite buildings the old GPO in Forrest Place. After a 36C day the breeze was in and made for a warm balmy evening enjoyed by over 5000 Perthites and visitors alike, check out last shot, quite a crowd oui! Once again there are so many things going on it makes me tired just thinking about getting to them all :) Catch up today, have a great weekend, take care.....!

ReplyDeleteSeven weeks of Christmas stuff? Bah! Humbug!
ReplyDeleteThis is so cool. Although for us Northern-hemispherians it's hard to imagine a Christmas season when the temps are above the 30s. In any case, enjoy it and keep those photos coming !
ReplyDeleteI am JEALOUS!!!
ReplyDeleteThey have started to put up the Christmas lighting in Versailles. Same ones as usual, I've been showing them since 2009 and arghhhhhhhh why can't they change them just a little bit???
This is fantastic!
While it seems a bit early to start the Christmas season, I love your night photos. Well captured light show. Almost feel I was there.
ReplyDeleteYou found the perfect spot for your shots. They are fab. We were in Melbourne a few years back for Christmas with family. It was fun to experience. Enjoy the build up to the big day and have a super weekend!
ReplyDeleteBrilliant and beautiful. Your country, too, seems to have the holiday spirit quite early.
ReplyDeleteWow what color! You got some good photos of it,.

ReplyDeleteLovely light show. I was sorry to miss it but we had a prior commitment. There is always so much on...
ReplyDeleteThis makes me think of the night so many years ago when the family attended a son-et-lumiere show at one of the castles in the Loire valley, Azay-le-rideau, I think. My, how the technology has changed.
ReplyDeleteThat looks fantastic!
ReplyDeleteOMG, it's the start of the CHRISTMAS festival??? It's getting WAAAAY too close!!
ReplyDeleteI like those projections, the buildings look so different this way, like a fairy-tale.
ReplyDeleteAh, your B & W in full living color. Now I do not know which I like best.
