You may or may not know that our recently elected (?) PM has a penchant for wearing 'budgie smugglers' when he goes for a dip.. I took this shot on Saturday after the elections and couldn't help wondering..nah! let's not go there :)) It's one of my favourite murals in the city on the corner of Wellington and William St. I always look forward to seeing it when walking over the Horseshoe Bridge into the city, something sweet at Tartine Cafe is a delish bonus! It was created by the very talented WA artist Anya Brock who's studio is on my visit list..I have just the spot for a giant budgerigar, seriously I do! Hope your week has started well, I'd like to say mine has but I'd be fibbing :) Take care and stay safe....Linking to Monday Mural..

I had to click on your link to see what a budgie smuggler was. I'm almost sorry I did. Most politicians really don't have the bodies for that sort of swim gear. That said, that mural is very cute. I can see why you would like it.
ReplyDeleteLovely mural, maybe he could do your wall?
ReplyDeleteTerrific mural and so colorful! I love it! I'd have to pass on viewing the politician!! What a hoot!!
ReplyDeleteMural gorgeous with that parakeet.
ReplyDeleteHugs and kisses.
Love your mural! You must have quite the new PM! ;))
ReplyDeleteMighty big boy. :-)
ReplyDeleteIt's a pretty boy :-) Have a great week..
ReplyDeleteI like the second photo what with the yellow building and blue on the bird.
ReplyDeleteMy week started with sunshine. And very warm weather, at least for Sweden in September. Oh, and I never use budgie smugglers.
ReplyDeleteMy husband wore budgie smugglers as a young man. I am so happy he has given them up !!! LOL.
ReplyDeleteQuite a mural!
ReplyDeleteYou learn something new every day. Budgie smugglers is one!
had a good laugh at 'budgie smugglers' what a colouful language you Aussies have created!
ReplyDeleteJust be grateful he doesn't like chooks!
ReplyDeleteOh, I love that birdie in the window....
ReplyDeleteThe things we learn on blogs! Budgie smugglers. Great phrase. But not a good look. I'm a boxers kind of guy.
ReplyDeleteGrace, it's healthy to let the mind wander:) LOL!!!
ReplyDeleteThat's one big budgie.
ReplyDeleteThe budgie is good. Wouldn't it be good on a pet shop window.
ReplyDeleteFunny to see a budgie at a French Cafe .... he's obviously got refined tastebuds. No seeds and nuts for this bird it's tarte-tartine washed down with a very strong espresso.
ReplyDeleteThat budgie is huge.
ReplyDeleteOh lol, what a name for Speedos!!! Not only does the café look nice but the whole building does too!
ReplyDeleteHow long can we keep this ribbing up for - 3 looong years? That is one big bird!!
ReplyDeleteMy week has indeed started well. What is the general feeling in Australia about having this new PM?
ReplyDeleteDuncan In Kuantan
Very good post...i like that second shot very much.
ReplyDeleteGreetings, Joop
I don't quite understand the Aussie slang, but like the mural on the window of the cafe.
ReplyDeleteLovely mural, it would look nice painted on a garden wall.
ReplyDeleteFab sight and great to see the whole shop for perspective, lovely ironwork.
ReplyDeletei am thinking unless the PM is extremely young/buff i would prefer never to see him at the beach! ;)
ReplyDeleteI so look forward to see it soon again, Grace. So much has changed/is added!
ReplyDeleteVoting over here soon, too - still I´m not 100% sure whom to give my voice.
Bwahahahaha - clever girl, if there was a gold star for Post TITLES you would get my vote Grace!
ReplyDeleteBetter a budgie smuggler than nothing at all! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing this nice colorful mural.
Grace, you decided to play! Welcome, girl. Very endearing pretty bird image. No wonder you look forward to seeing it on your way to the cafe. I say go for it to have your very own sweet bird. Oh, and thanks for the local language translation. I was in the dark. Thanks for contributing to this week's Monday Mural.
ReplyDeleteDon't know why I thought of it, but that could SO be from the cover of a Beatles album circa Sgt. Pepper or Magical Mystery Tour.
ReplyDeleteJolly Bird! :-)
