Pretty in pink.....!
There are a few 'happenings' today here in Oz..but to start with it's the first day of the month and that means 'pink' day in the CDP group. I've been saving this one because...well it's pink and because it's too gorgeous! Aimee, baker extraordinaire, queen of the birthday cakes created the Dolly Varden cake above for her four year old second cousin's birthday a few weeks ago and yes it was as delicious as it looked. Seriously if she ever gave up her day job she has a talent to fall back on n'est pas! Also, happy Father's Day to all dad's here in Australia, I couldn't resist this shot of a young 'fashionista' disappearing with her dad into Gordon St Garage, a very cool new cafe in West Perth..... Lastly, although it doesn't really feel like it weather wise, it's officially the first day of Spring..there's not even a small chance of any spring cleaning for a while, not while the kitchen is a disaster :) Hope you're having a good weekend, take care.....Click here to view all participants of this theme day

Ah, cake....
ReplyDeleteGood shots, both of them!
The first one really works for me because of the thing blue edge of the table cloth along side the orangey wood of the table, the lines converge towards the subject doll. I like the street shot as well it creates interest.
ReplyDeleteWhat an incredible cake!! Aimee is definitely a baker extraordinaire!! Love your last shot, too! Hope you both have a great weekend as you slip into spring!
ReplyDeleteAmazing cake, a real work of art!
ReplyDeleteHMMMM..... looks good and very sweet.
ReplyDeleteGreetings, Joop
That cake sure looks tasty. Reminds me that I need to get some lunch.
ReplyDeleteI have rarely seen such a beautiful cake, and even pink!
ReplyDeleteHappy Theme Day, Grace, you're always 1 day ahead of me :)
Aimee has quite a talent! I'm very impressed.
ReplyDeleteThe B/W shot of the cafe is very cool too.
This cake is so pretty , I would not dare to cut it and eat it!
ReplyDeleteNoone else than Barbie could illustrate the pink theme!
What a cake!! Love your 2nd shot, Grace. We still have 3 more weeks of summer officially but this is the traditional last weekend of summer here - school starts on Tuesday.
