A while back I mentioned that as part of the spring celebrations in the city many shops are decorating their windows for the
Windows of the City competition. Not that we needed an excuse to visit
Jean Pierre Sancho on Hay St. but Aimee and I thought we really should check their window :) Too many temptations, although I lost my heart that magical moment many moons ago when I tasted for the first time a JPS
brûlée tart..heavenly! This may be my vote for best window.. As for the results of our Federal elections I can't bring myself to think about it yet except to say.. seriously people WHY? I'll be painting tomorrow, that should be fun (read messy)..happy weekend, take care.....!
I like window shots like that as it gives an automatic abstract look to things, sometimes I would even get myself in the photo if I didn't pay close attention.
ReplyDeleteLonging for a tart, now! La tour Eiffel looked right at home on your blog, Cheri!:-)
ReplyDeleteAloha-bonjour Mon ami
Beautiful window and even more beautiful tart. Yum!
ReplyDeleteFun window!!! Happy painting!!! Do try to keep it out or your hair though!!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful decor in the window.
ReplyDeleteHugs and kisses.
Une tour de macarons, I'm sure Gustave Eiffel would love it!
ReplyDeleteI've just watched a really good little Beeb film about the election because I have to admit I didn't know much about it but I still don't know enough to have an opinion... I do, however, like your shade of white so bonne peinture !
Both are lovely shots.
ReplyDeleteI don't know enough about the political situation Down Under.
That brulee tart looks delicious!
ReplyDeleteHope your politicians aren't as bad as ours!
I can certainly understand why anyone who loves all things French would be attracted to it. :)) And I agree it's wonderful.
ReplyDeleteWell, let's hope this vote goes more your way :)
ReplyDeleteWindow decorators are so clever, aren't they. Love that macaron tower.
ReplyDeleteWe did our best re election. Have fun painting. What do they say? "Keep calm & carry on"!!! My Adobe Flash plugin has crashed - makes it difficult to comment much.
ReplyDeleteNow that is a tasty looking tower. Sorry about the election outcome.
ReplyDeleteSorry, I don't know enough about Australian politics to comment. Oddly, a good friend of mine from high school in St. Louis, Missouri, has worked most of her life in a public health department department job in Canberra. Funny how people end up in far flung places.
ReplyDeleteI tend to avoid political comment on my blog too. All I can say about yesterday's election is "O dear" verging on "Grrrrrr..."
ReplyDeleteMoving on to your window. It is so eye-catching. Wish there was more competition for window dressing. It could be fun and great for the streetscape too.
Surely your Francophile vote goes without saying. Don't forget to double the time you allow for painting, and then some more.
ReplyDeleteMmmmh.... vivement l'Arc de Triomphe en chouquettes...
ReplyDeleteThe shopwindow looks very yummie, yes politics are everywhere a problem I think. People have got bogged dwon in today's thinking.
ReplyDeleteYou need strength to paint....
ReplyDeleteFabulous window shot, love this and so French :-)) Have a good day Diane
ReplyDeleteBeautiful window display.
ReplyDeleteI love window competitions. This one is just great!
ReplyDeleteMon dieu, that`s edible, Grace? Who would dare?
ReplyDeleteI'll pass on the windows. I'll tackle that tart though.
ReplyDeleteWonderful shot of the window competition, Grace!! And it's definitely time for breakfast here in Portland -- particularly after seeing the shot of the tart!!! Mmmmmmm!! Yummy!
ReplyDeleteOur elections also bring feelings of despair, too. Win some, lose some!
ReplyDeleteWhat a tasty treat; hope the tower tastes as good as it looks.
did Virginia see that version of her favorite Paris icon?
