Well I always like to see them.. not so much P, he just thinks of the poo :) This is what you call taking 'weather for the ducks'..literally! Every year a pair of Pacific Black Ducks, I like to think they're the same pair, swoop down and land in the pool. They've been a little unsettled by the new pool cover and it's quite funny to see their reaction when they splash land and don't sink..yesterday there was a bit of quacking as they discussed the situation waddling for cover under the hibiscus bushes. Fascinating the way the heavy rain just beads on their feathers and rolls off, would be handy that don't you think! Neither were amused when P shooed them off below, don't know why they glared at moi :)) Hope your week has started well, take care and stay safe.....

Oh, I love your ducks!! Wonderful shots! You can almost hear them asking those questions about what's wrong with the water???? Fun start for my day! Hope your week is off to a great start!
ReplyDeleteAww, they are very sweet - I've a soft spot for ducks too! Love the captures - I think you caught their inner life/thoughts perfectly. We've some mallards that have returned to the nearby pond, but they look more like a menage a trois:)
ReplyDeleteYour duck pictures are again very nice
ReplyDeletewish you a lovely week.
greetings, Joop

Very cool ducks. Interesting visit:) As for glaring at you......maybe it was the cover on the pool:) You've got some great backyard birds!
ReplyDeleteThe last shot is really a great timing!
ReplyDeleteI love ducks. Here there are many who come and go, like the Herons. Beautiful pictures ... Ducks are adorable and friendly.
ReplyDeleteHugs and kisses.
Ducks. Here them is a large amount. Soon it will be cold and it is the season when people go to the river to feed. Nice picture, very nice details. Nice week good luck.
ReplyDeleteExcellent pics!
ReplyDeleteI'm sure they must have been saying, "Now this isn't right!"
ReplyDeleteGood pics!
It has been wet hasn't it! We get ducks on the dam and they are messy. But I like watching them and sometimes we get the babies out there too so that's pretty cool. Yep, you take some great shots.
ReplyDeleteBarb.
They definitely don't look like our ducks, nice feather pattern from the rear. I need to wear camo and slip up close to the pond to get a photo of the wild ones that fly in.
ReplyDeleteI bet that pool cover is confusing and funny to watch. I really like your final shot.
ReplyDeleteFIFO ducks? Mining for snails?
ReplyDeleteThe top one looks like Currier & Ives. Does that mean anything to you?
ReplyDeleteHow sweet! I can just imagine them asking each other what happened to the water they used to land in. I wish I had ducks in my garden to eat the numerous snails that destroy my veggie garden...
ReplyDeleteThat's one ducky pair.
ReplyDeleteAw, the little darlings! (haha, must agree, duck poo is no fun!)
ReplyDeleteBrilliant images Grace, what fun!
Ah shucks...they can't swim in your pool??? That's like taking up the welcome mat for ducks!!!
ReplyDelete"I like to think they're the same pair" - that's cute!

That is nice they come to visit you each year, almost like family!
ReplyDeleteThey are cute critters and your pictures are great!Love the last image!

You should take the cover off for their arrival each year.
ReplyDeleteI bet that pool cover really did confuse them. They are certainly a cute pair.
ReplyDeleteDon't get me wrong, because I LOVE ducks. However, once I made the mistake of not shooing them out of our swimming pool. What a mess!
ReplyDeleteAlso, the ducks have the law on their side. If you let a duck set up shop in and around your pool and that duck starts to make a nest. It is against the law to disturb either the nest or the duck until nature has taken it's course.
As seen from the back, the feathers' patterns are beautiful!
