When you live in a country with a hot dry climate where many months go by without a single drop of rain there are so many reasons to appreciate the weather we've been experiencing these last few weeks in Perth..with more to come. Everything feels fresh and clean after a downpour, the smell is divine don't you think? and...water lashing down on a windscreen, if you can get your driver (Aimee) to switch off the wipers for a moment can make for a bit of an abstract shot! Sorry I haven't been around much this weekend.. I spent most of Saturday abed with 'un mal de tête' which unfortunately doesn't translate to 'tall, dark & handsome' :)) Hope you had or are having a fab weekend, take care.....
A beautiful painting with watercolors :-))
ReplyDeleteSeriously, a really beautiful photo, Grace, I can see your artistic side!
Definitely a downpour!
ReplyDeleteThe shot through windshield works, the color looks good. A lot of the time I switch to black and white in rain, just seems to fit my mood but you guys in the dry climate have a happier colorful outlook on the rain.
ReplyDeleteFantastic captures! I do love the water on the windshield and an artistic side you do indeed have!! Hope you're feeling better and have a great new week!! I do love your sense of humor, too!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful images Grace. Love the umbrella photo.
ReplyDeleteSo sad about the suffering.
ReplyDeleteTsk. You call that rain, ptah!
Thanks, Aimee:-)
ReplyDeleteSure hope Your dear tete feels good soon!
Aloha Cheri
Good shots....i like the effect by that first shot very much.

Ah... as you are going into spring we are going into fall/winter. How I wished our rains brought some relief. But for me I wonder when that rain will turn into snow.
ReplyDeleteToday has been a rainy day...we go due to autumn! Good week, Arianna
ReplyDeleteThe recent rain smell is unmistakable and seems to give life.
ReplyDeleteThe photo from the windshield very good and seems surreal.
Heal your headache.
Hugs and kisses.
I've also spent the last few days with 'un mal de tête', so I can sympathize.
ReplyDeletePerhaps a good rainstorm here might clear it a little.
I love that first shot! And it's true, everything is so fresh and green again.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy a good soaking rain; good for clearing the head ;-) Great shots, Grace.
ReplyDeleteOh dear, are you a migraine sufferer dear Grace?
ReplyDeleteOne of the rotten things grabbed my SIL in New Orleans the other day and they lost more than a day's worth of plans.
Pretty rain images - wish we'd get some!! (been months)
Have a lovely new week Grace.

Très belle photo du pare-brise sous la pluie !
ReplyDeleteBonne semaine Grace !
SUPERB images!
ReplyDeleteLovely rain captures! the first one looks like a painting.
ReplyDeleteLove the creative rain shots ~ Expecting rain here tomorrow in USA ~ carol, xo
ReplyDeleteToday was our first day of sunshine in 4 days. We're getting that rain that hit Colorado. Love that second photo.
ReplyDeleteOh no, I hope you are feeling much better and that you got lots of rest. I love that shimmery abstract - you created art out of a windshield moment!:)
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry that you have to deal with these migraines.
ReplyDeleteI thing that Nathalie, on leave from Avignon DP, pioneered the technique of the first photo. Love the second one - dull and daring at once.
ReplyDeleteI have a heads-up for you on a Perth event in my Monday post.
Hi Grace,
ReplyDeleteI feel pretty much the same here in Malaysia. The smell of the rain hitting the hot ground is gorgeous! We do appreciate the cooler weather during the downpours :)

ReplyDeleteSo much colour on such a grey day.
ReplyDeleteHope you feel better today! Great shots.
ReplyDeleteI like you rainy day photos. Keep on clicking.
ReplyDeleteYour through-the-windshield shot is marvelous. Now I can't wait for a rainy day. lol
ReplyDeleteOh, that looks familiar to me, I saw this almost the whole weekend here. I hate it!
ReplyDeletei love both of those shots! and that reminds me, i have to get my wipers fixed!
ReplyDeleteLove that top shot, it is brilliant. It is raining here as well, the garden even says it has had enough now! Keep well Diane
ReplyDeleteOh, I can certainly relate. I'm happy you are getting some much needed rain. And, you are so right, it does smell heavenly after a nice rain.
ReplyDeleteWe feel the same way about rain in the Arizona desert.
ReplyDeleteSeems like our weather is the same atm...
ReplyDeleteHope you feel better, Grace, really sad the translation doesn´t work this way!!! We would´ve had many a good time with that ;-)
Great shot Grace!!! Love the Impressionist look!!!
ReplyDeleteI know exactly what you mean. On the other hand, it's nice not having humidity during the summer. Very nice photos.
ReplyDeleteNice shots! Love the impressionist image!
ReplyDeleteBoth shots are really cool. Like them a lot.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous spotty umbrella in that last shot. And yes. Windscreen rainy day shots create the most unusual abstract art. Always different.
