Tree.. what tree?

I was looking for a recent image that might depict the outrageously hot summer we are experiencing this year, the above shot taken around noon last week on a 39C day in Leederville fits the bill perfectly don't you think.. can you feel the heat :) The brightness, the shadows and how the heck that tree is surviving I don't even want to think about! It has been a good few years since we have had a summer this hot right from the get go, I'm pretty much at the stage that if anyone within reach states that climate change is a hoax I might have to respond with something rather rude and you know that's not like moi 😉 Happy Tuesday, take care and stay safe..

  1. Yes, I can feel the heat in your photo. Someone has parked that Mini there too long for a tree to grow up through it. It may be hot, but it is also funny. Great shot. Of course global warming is real.

  2. Dearest Grace,
Yes, that is a pitiful tree! It must be awfully strong...

  6. We had one of the warmest Decembers ever. I fear for our summer too. I knew it was hot in Australia but it must be scorching. Humankind is in serious trouble.

  7. We have been having a warmer than normal winter so it would be hard to argue about climate change to anyone here. Hope it cools off a bit for you Grace.

  9. The tree in the car is pretty good. We saw the same in London a few years ago, in that case a black cab was used. It is very hard to convey heat in a photo.

  10. Oh I like that...but not the part about it being so hot! We always escape to our place in the mountains in the heat of summer, but this will be our last. Age is creeping up on us and it’s time to simplify. So we will be experiencing the heat in Texas....summer of 22 .

  20. Oh that's amazing, someone has planted a real tree in the car and has watered it and looked after it and loved it, and taken it for rides,..... amazing!
Your sun and intense heat might be a bit too much for me right bow, although some warmth would be very welcome, its January in cold Canada, what more can I say?

  21. I can certainly understand dealing with the heat! And, it does look hot in your photo! It's not often you see a tree growing in a car.

  23. We've still got the AC on here 24/7, although it is more pleasant this time of year. Love the tree - is it growing out of that car?
