The Japanese say you have three faces, the first face you show the world, the second face you show your closest friends and family, the third face, the truest, you never show anyone..
I have passed and looked at this many face-faceted :) three metre high sculpture sitting under the tall eucalyptus trees on the corner of Loftus and Vincent St. so often without stopping. When we passed there a few days ago and I saw that he is now sporting a pretty fancy crocheted beanie and scarf I felt it was a sign that this was the time! 'Beseech' aka the big blue head, was created by Ken Sealy for the Town of Vincent. The artist's statement 'Beseech watches and waits,
activating the space by creating tension through expectation and anticipation.' The BBH might not be everyone's cup of tea, but I enjoy seeing him when driving by. Happy Wednesday, take care and stay safe...
He certainly brightens things up.
ReplyDeleteWow, that's a huge statue and I like that someone bothered to crochet him a scarf and beanie. He will be a bit hot in this weather though 😃.
ReplyDeleteFun and funky and I love the beanie and the scarf. A nice addition to the area!
ReplyDeleteWow, this is incredible on so many levels! Interesting droppings from the tree as well!
ReplyDeleteA great work of patience! Arianna

I wonder how the artist feels about the additions, Grace!
ReplyDeleteThat's a really big head!
ReplyDelete...I like the beanie the best.
ReplyDeleteThe BBH is now very cool with the crochet additions.
ReplyDeleteWonderful
ReplyDeleteVery big, very blue, very interesting. The hat and scarf are works of art too. I think I need to knit a scarf for my tree in front of my house. Weather is getting colder..... hmmm....
ReplyDeleteLove it. The beanie humanizes him somehow.
ReplyDeleteI've never seen anything like it! It's quit a sculpture and the crochet scarf and hat are a perfect addition.
ReplyDeleteOh, will the Blue Men be jealous when they see this.
ReplyDeleteI quite like it. Someone went to a lot of work to make the beanie.
ReplyDeleteI like it, especially with the new clothes! I hope the beanie and scarf are not yarn bombs that disappear after a little while.
ReplyDeleteI love it...I woul love to examine the scarf, etc.
ReplyDeleteLove the beanie and scarf! They fit perfectly on the head.
ReplyDeleteUma escultura de grande beleza.
ReplyDeleteContinuação de uma boa semana.

It looks funny to put a beanie and a scarf on it, but I don't think the artist likes this...
ReplyDeleteThats funny. He looks a bit like a surf life saver
ReplyDeleteFunny fella, Grace, I´d expected such a development rather when winter is arriving, not summer. Reminds me of having a look at our wrestlers, the one on top usually gets socks in winter :-)
ReplyDeleteI'm with Marleen :)
ReplyDeleteWonder what the artists impression of this is but I think it cheers it up :-) Diane
ReplyDeleteI like that Japanese saying ...
ReplyDeleteI like the pretty fancy crocheted beanie and scarf too.
All the best Jan
I like BLUE, the BLUE head and the creative handmade arty extra. Just beautiful! One to remember!
