How many of you out there are still this bendable! As you can see I'm still working on the same principle as yesterday, somewhere in the world it's still Monday etc :) is it just me or does everyone get a little confused as to which day it is over the Christmas/New Year holiday? I've always enjoyed this mural atop the Varga Girl store in trendy Leederville and right now it typifies exactly how I feel.. twisted in many uncomfortable ways both emotionally and physically. Never fear my usual calm (?) equilibrium will resume... any day now :) I hope that you're enjoying the festive season, I wonder how many of you, like me will have 'must lose 5 kilos' on top of your New Years resolution list! Have a happy and safe New Years Eve, take care....to see more murals from around the world click here.
The January theme for City Daily Photo bloggers is "Photo of the Year."
She will not get the ironing done lying there will she......
ReplyDelete(And the days are all mixed up)
I know exactly of what you speak, Grace! I had a nice blog break and Christmas holiday but I am completely at sixes and sevens (whatever that means :)). Have a super New Year celebration! I always look forward to seeing the fireworks on TV from OZ. Take care!
ReplyDeleteWell, at my age, this is not likely to be seen around my house!!! Fun shot for the day, Grace! Have a great week and a wonderful and Happy New Year!!!
ReplyDeleteGreat mural. Afraid I am not that bendable now
ReplyDeleteIt´s still Monday over here, Grace, and yes: I can do that - it´s not even that difficult, I needed two weeks to get it done (and - truth be told, next year I start at 0 again, since shortly before our trip to Perth I have done nothing on that sector!).
ReplyDeleteGrace, I just spotted La Tour Eiffel for windows (sun and neighbours can´t come in there): http://www.klebefieber.de/fensterdekoration/fensterbilder-sichtschutz-fensterdekoration-fenstermotive-online-bestellen/fensterdekoration-eiffelturm/a-4073/
ReplyDeleteHa, Grace, I used to be able to do that...as few as 5 years ago. I figured it wasn't healthy to make promises that I would have trouble keeping, so no resolutions here! Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteInteresting mural. Use to be an artist named Vargas who drew young women who looked much like this. He published his work in Playboy Magazine.
ReplyDeleteI was that bendable years ago but would probably wreck my back now! I find this time if year to be an emotional roller coaster too, Grace.
ReplyDeleteI don't know the store but keep thinking there's a line missing in the V to say Narga! My World: http://www.looseleafnotes.com/2013/12/a-breath-of-fresh-air/
ReplyDeleteWell I was already discombobulated by the holidays and now on top of that, I'm jet-lagged !
ReplyDeleteLove that holiday feeling where you forget what day it is, best wishes blogging for the year!
ReplyDeleteOh I thought that was a self portrait for a second. You are right, it is Monday afternoon here, a cool cloudy day Happy New Year, you will see it long before I do.
ReplyDeleteIn my head I am that bendable Grace ... but only in my head.
ReplyDeleteLol! Have a great 2014!
ReplyDeleteI laughed at the first comment. Happy New Year.
ReplyDeleteAm gonna try that!
ReplyDeleteAloha ♥
I was thinking of those Vargas girls that Taken For granted mentions (don't why I know about them, but I do!)
ReplyDeleteEven throughout one day I can get confused about which day it is at this time of year. And yes, I will go on that diet, just as soon as I finish this last mince tart....
Happy New Year to you! I'm betting you feel like we did at the kids first day of school.
ReplyDeleteShe does seem unusually flexible. Perhaps her smile says, "See what I can do?" Thanks for the laugh and for contributing to this week's Monday Mural.
ReplyDeleteThose days are over. Hoping to focus more on a Yoga practice in the new year. Lets see how long that lasts.
ReplyDeleteI can't remember the last time I could bend like that. Must have been college...I was still doing yoga then....
ReplyDeleteI think the illustrator famous for this type of picture in Playboy magazine was names Vargas. Must still be a trademark issue. In any event, if I tried to do that I would soon be in the hands of an orthopedic surgeon.
ReplyDeleteOh, the New Year resolutions that don't last that long...one of them always seems to be "I'm going to lose some weight"!!
ReplyDeleteHave a great year Grace, may all your wishes come true. xx
Grace, I can't think of anything I could say about Varga girl that would not get me in trouble!
ReplyDeleteNice posting. It made me smile:) Well, we have 15 hours left until we can write and celebrate the new year. I wish you a very HaPpY NeW YeAr!
ReplyDeleteGreetings from Gunn.
I would say that more men than women stop to look at the Varga Girl. :)
ReplyDeleteLove your way of looking at things. I'm not sure I'd want to shop at the Varga girl based on this sign. But I'd definitely be curious enough to take a look inside. :)
ReplyDeleteHope 2014 brings you lots of joy and love!!!
Hi Grace, and a belated Happy Christmas to you too.....do enjoy the New Year celebs, perhaps you already have, thinking about the time difference. Will be back on Blogger when I have new travel pics to share....Regards Gringo
ReplyDeleteA very happy and healty New Year to you.
ReplyDeleteLove, Marianne
Yeah I'm always losing track of the day, whatever time of year. I sure wish I could bend like that lady!
ReplyDeleteGood heavens, I haven't seen a Varga Girl picture in ages. And, you have a whole store named after her.
ReplyDeleteHave a very happy new year Grace.
Bonne année 2014, Grace, to you and yours. Hugs from Veronique (French Girl in Seattle)
ReplyDeleteoo er that looks uncomfortable
ReplyDeleteI remember the Varga's girls very well. Lots of them in the early years of Playboy. Or so I've been told.
ReplyDeleteHave a great 2014!
A fun mural!
ReplyDeleteI do get mixed up during the holidays about which day is which. Happens every year.
