Hawaiian connections.....

I've always enjoyed the Christmas decorations in the Carillon City Arcade, I'm particularly partial :) to the planet like spheres hanging in the glass dome atop the three tiered atrium on the s/w side of the complex.. a two storey glass spiral staircase (below) leads up to the top level where a wonderful 1920's (I think) beach scene is painted around the dome, once again I have googled my finger off to no avail, I cannot find out who the artist is, I would love to know, it's a fabulous mural. One thing I did find out whilst searching is that we have a few Hawaiian connections around Perth, aloha.. who knew! Happy Friday, take care and stay safe.....

  2. These are just gorgeous! Bet you're glad it's warming up down there. Our Winter is just beginning. My sons made their way around the entire perimeter of Australia. Tomorrow marks exactly one year since they flew off on their adventure. As of Tuesday, they were headed to Bali then travelling through the rest of Indonesia.

  9. And now for something different. These are so different and they are amazing. I am enjoying the sense of warmth radiating off my PC screen from Perth. It is cold here :). (Backs, knees - all need looking after. Take care :).)

  20. Beach scenes at Christmas. That works for places like Perth, Hawaii, or Costa Rica. Not for most of the world.

  21. How wonderfully festive Grace. Chirstmas decorations with a really modern twist. It is nice to see. After being wheeled out year in your out Christmas decorations can become a bit tired. Traditional but tired. It's nice to see some new you ones in all their gleaming glory.

  22. Rotundas lend themselves to spectacular decorations. «Louis» would enjoy seeing this, too.
The Neiman-Marcus ("Needless Markup") store in San Francisco has a rotunda and always has a spectacular christmas tree in it this time of year.

  26. Sparkly and festive. How interesting that Perth has Hawaiian connections when you are on the opposite end of your continent from the Australian cities closest to Hawaii. Hmmm. Maybe all of Australia has a Hawaiian connection? Dunno.
