Hawaiian connections.....
I've always enjoyed the Christmas decorations in the Carillon City Arcade, I'm particularly partial :) to the planet like spheres hanging in the glass dome atop the three tiered atrium on the s/w side of the complex.. a two storey glass spiral staircase (below) leads up to the top level where a wonderful 1920's (I think) beach scene is painted around the dome, once again I have googled my finger off to no avail, I cannot find out who the artist is, I would love to know, it's a fabulous mural. One thing I did find out whilst searching is that we have a few Hawaiian connections around Perth, aloha.. who knew! Happy Friday, take care and stay safe.....

Gorgeous! Love the angle you captured.
ReplyDeleteThese are just gorgeous! Bet you're glad it's warming up down there. Our Winter is just beginning. My sons made their way around the entire perimeter of Australia. Tomorrow marks exactly one year since they flew off on their adventure. As of Tuesday, they were headed to Bali then travelling through the rest of Indonesia.
ReplyDeleteI love Christmas decorations!!! As long as they come after our Thanksgiving in late November!!!
ReplyDeleteOh, I love these!! So colorful and gorgeous indeed!! I love your pics and the angle!! Perfect! Hope you have a great weekend! Enjoy!!
ReplyDeleteWow, really great Christmas decorations.
ReplyDeleteI'm waiting to see that fabulous mural without spheres... :-)

And now for something different. These are so different and they are amazing. I am enjoying the sense of warmth radiating off my PC screen from Perth. It is cold here :). (Backs, knees - all need looking after. Take care :).)
ReplyDeleteVery unusual and beautiful christmas decoration!
ReplyDeleteThat dome is spectacular!
ReplyDeleteOh wow this is soooo beautiful. Why oh why isn't there anything NICE in Versailles?
ReplyDeleteThat mural is truly amazing Grace - let us know if you ever find out about the artist and their background. Centre Management keep records?
ReplyDeleteStay happy, stay smiling!
That mural is wonderful, Grace. As are the decorations.
ReplyDeletecool decorations but I do like the mural too
ReplyDeleteLooks like a nice place to go hang out and relax among the planets.
ReplyDeleteOh of course I had to follow the links - how fun! Mahalo nui loa for these beautiful images, that is just the coolest mural. Wish we had something like that around here!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a stunning Christmas display!
ReplyDeleteThat's a nice and fun display. I think kids would like it.
ReplyDeleteI would need a big tree for those.
ReplyDeleteBeach scenes at Christmas. That works for places like Perth, Hawaii, or Costa Rica. Not for most of the world.
ReplyDeleteHow wonderfully festive Grace. Chirstmas decorations with a really modern twist. It is nice to see. After being wheeled out year in your out Christmas decorations can become a bit tired. Traditional but tired. It's nice to see some new you ones in all their gleaming glory.
ReplyDeleteMesmerizing !
ReplyDeleteRotundas lend themselves to spectacular decorations. «Louis» would enjoy seeing this, too.
ReplyDeleteThe Neiman-Marcus ("Needless Markup") store in San Francisco has a rotunda and always has a spectacular christmas tree in it this time of year.
oh i love that!! and that's a super thing about blogging isn't it? i take a picture, come home to research what i saw and learn something new!
ReplyDeleteI love the sky, the building and the decorations!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the weekend and summer.
Here we have snow & storm.
Those are beautiful decorations against the background.
ReplyDeleteSparkly and festive. How interesting that Perth has Hawaiian connections when you are on the opposite end of your continent from the Australian cities closest to Hawaii. Hmmm. Maybe all of Australia has a Hawaiian connection? Dunno.
ReplyDeleteLike being inside Christmas! I clicked, but don,t really get the Hawaiian connection......silly me♥
ReplyDeleteLove the decorations!
ReplyDeleteMaybe on a non-sunny day you can get a panorama view of the mural?!
Aw, I didn´t see the beach scene! Reminds me of Queen´s "Seaside Rendevouz", one of my fav Queen-songs...
