Another cocktail..... ? Absabloominlutely.....!!
I took so many photos in Sydney but I'm only going to post a couple of the 'arty' ones because it's not my city and Julie (sydney-eye), Jim (SydneyCity and Suburbs), Ann (SydneyMeanderings) and other Sydneysiders do the best job of that already! This one was taken when we had cocktails in the Blu Bar on the 36th floor of The Shangri La (Blu Bar). It's more than a touch unnerving sitting on a bar stool, leaning on a glass table being able to see the traffic flow so very far down below you. The fabulous views of Darling Harbour, Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Opera House certainly make up for the strong feelings of vertigo, and....oh yes, a few cocktails definitely soothe the nerves too.....!!

Great picture Grace! Sydney is such a superb city!
ReplyDeleteWhat an awesome view! And the perfect capture! It surely beats my view right now of pouring rain, wind and a WAY too chilly wind at that! So, I'll enjoy your summer and a drink as well! Hope you have a great weekend!

Well, Grace, I chastised you ever so gently about your fear of flying, but heights? I think I would like to move over to the next table, further away from the edge, if you don't mind . . .
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh... until you mentioned the glass table and the view straight down to the street... I saw it! Wow... don't think I could do that!
ReplyDeleteI don't think I'd care for the view for very long, but I sure would like to be able to see it...just once!!~
ReplyDeletelovely capture!
ReplyDeleteOh I could use one of these right now.
ReplyDeleteNice colour!!
ReplyDeleteIt took me three tries before I figured out how to say that word. And I'm completely sober! Glad it was a wonderful day and wonderful trip.

ReplyDeleteUnnerving? That's why you need cocktails! I would have looooooooved that!
ReplyDeleteYikes! My vertigo went in high gear just looking at your photo! But you know what? I'd STILL go there and enjoy a cocktail or two... or three. What a fun photo!
ReplyDeleteLooks worth a visit!
ReplyDeleteGreat place to take a cocktail !!
ReplyDeleteVery nice those little cars below ;)
Magnifique photo! Elle est digne d'un concours.
ReplyDeleteBravo, Gracie!
Sydney, Perth, Manchester...cocktail hour is a good time anywhere- lovely photo.
ReplyDeleteJulie and I will be in Sydney next year, so I will have to remember this spot for a drink and some photos.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun and funky shot. You're much braver than I am. I don't like heights. Thus, I'd need more than a couple of drinks to sit there and look down. Nah, even the liquor wouldn't help. :-)
ReplyDeleteFantastic view and fantastic shot Grace. Looks like you were really living it up in Sydney.
ReplyDeletethis reminds me of a shot I semi-staged whilst in Birmingham, AL .. I need to post it ..
ReplyDelete(HIC!)
ReplyDeleteNot the right time here now, but why not?
ReplyDeleteGorgeous shot! Compliments.
ReplyDeleteFantastic refreshment. It had to be a great experience. I wish you a great weekend! / Peter
ReplyDeleteYou're a braver soul than I am Grace - It would make me dizzy- cocktail or no cocktail!!
ReplyDeleteCheers...!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for pointing to the traffic below, otherwise I would have gladly enjoyed the drink without even noticing ...
ReplyDeleteI'm glad I wasn't there with you though. I'm not sure I would have survived such an experience, the fear of heights would have gotten the better of me.
Beautiful shot.
This photo makes me thirsty in the cold snowy zero temperature of Here(Tehran ,Iran) .The combination of Glass and cars in the street and vast back ground Made this picture so lovely.
ReplyDeleteVery nice shot! Really well done and it looks like a great place to have a cocktail (or two!)
