Rumbled...twice.....!!

In the city on Saturday afternoon, we were looking down onto Forrest Chase watching the preparations for a 'Rally for Equal Marriage Rights', spotting a group of 'nuns', I zoomed in only to find things are not always as they seem!! This nun was sporting a very hairy face and substantial nose ring, but it was the pink beads that gave him away haha!! Looking up and seeing me with my camera, he waved and promptly took my picture too..Rumble No. one!!.... panning my camera across the scene it came to a rest on.. 'the heavy police presence' (she said tongue in cheek!!) Rumble No. two..!! and another wave..Oh how I love a peaceful rally, why can't they all be like this, without the distraction of violence to take away from the point being made.!! Still pelting down in Perth, yay! hope those dams are filling up for summer.....!! p.s. will explain about the 'hairy nun' tomorrow.....!!

    I'm not sure about the nun, her/his purpose and intent. I maxed the image and knew that there was a point to make, but I'm not sure, even after reading your explanation. I'm not in the habit of thinking this deeply, but I'm sympathetic to the cause.

    I think the only times we see nuns in full habit these days are Halloween and the gay pride parade. I had them in full-dress uniform throughout elementary school. Not something I miss.

    Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence? Met them in Newtown one day. Interesting and colourful lot. Lvoe the top shot, esp the camera.

    PS: yes, a "farandole" is a dance. People are side by side and give hand to each others.I was thinking the word existed in english, I have it in my dictionnary.

    Love it! Peaceful demonstrations usually get violent not because of the demonstrators but because a tiny outside group infiltrate and start the trouble. Often those people don't even know or care what the demonstration is about. Not fun.
