Confirmation of season.....

With temperatures in the low 20C range sometimes it's hard to believe that it  actually is winter in Australia, but there's no fooling nature...these Plane trees around the lakes in Hyde Park although totally devoid of leaves, to me are a beautiful reminder of which season we are in..There are many really old and beautiful trees in Hyde Park (trees), including Morten Bay Figs which have the most amazing gnarly old trunks and above ground root formations....Have the best day you can.....!!

    Love the sweeping line of the water in the first photo! And the humungous roots of trees fascinate me when they seem to sculpture an identity above the ground!

    These trees curving around the water make a beautiful photo. I bet in the summer they are also beautiful, different but still beautiful.

    Those big old trunks are very impressive!
    But I can't help loving the way you used the bench in the forground, and showed this beautyful rank of benches along the water, between the trees.. very romanticc view!

    Nice captures. The root systems of moreton bay figs are wonderful. Great place for picnics on a hot summer's day.

    Those fig trees remind me of the ficus trees in south Florida...same kind of roots...

    This is such a well-composed photo with the water line leading the eye and the spidery wands of branches above...excellent shot!

    Beautiful tree! We have very similar trees in Hawaii too, with above ground root systems - I love the way they look.

    That top photo is perfectly composed, Grace. Lovely shot. 20C, eh? I heard on the radio today that the mean temperature in England across June, July and August this year was 13.4C...:-(
