While in the city taking these photos in Cathedral Square I popped in to see St George's Art 2017 held in St George's Cathedral. This event, now in its 15th year is a terrific opportunity for students in Year 10, 11 and 12 from all around WA to present their work in a unique setting.. I did get a little side-tracked as you can see :)
The standard of work by the students was outstanding as always.. the piece that I have picked to show is indicative of young people's anxiety world wide re the current state of politics in the US.. and on that note :) I wish you a happy Sunday, take care and stay safe..
A timely project, that anxiety. What a setting to be displaying art! I know of a church that does so here once a year, but this is grander.
ReplyDeleteIncredible setting. Great idea!
ReplyDeleteNice building...
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful building that is, Grace!

ReplyDeleteTrump! Hopefully he will get trumped and we won't need to put up with him very long.
ReplyDeleteFantastic cathedral.
A great opportunity indeed, I agree. A fine structure and nice photos!
ReplyDelete...we are all anxious.
ReplyDeleteI would so rather get sidetracked by the cathedral. I've had an ongoing anxiety attack since the U.S. election. We have a front row seat to insanity.
ReplyDeleteWho doesn't worry about the situation in the White House, it seems to has become a mad house.
ReplyDeleteGlad you got distracted, Grace, that´s a truly beautiful place - I like especially the gate!
ReplyDeleteOh, that darn Trump. I kinda didn´t think he´d come this far even...
Well, thank you, Grace, I´m happily off in sunshine now! Wishing you a wonderful rest-Sunday.
What a beautiful Cathedral. As far as Trump....I feel like I can't wake up from this nightmare,
ReplyDeleteDefinitely an impressive setting for a student art show, and that piece that you showed us, well, a lot of anxiety there about the state of Trump's presidency. And it's being felt all over the world. I'm horrified by what's going on.
ReplyDeleteAmazing. Great pics.
ReplyDeleteVery powerful artwork! What a gorgeous place to display the art work!
ReplyDeleteGood morning! First your opening photos, what an incredible place. I can just imagine how wonderful a wedding would be right there. Magical and such a sense of blessings. Then, spot on they are, incredible work. In fact I'm sure singing "Bravo on that art project! Enjoy your week!
