A trip to Guildford is not complete for me unless I pop into Dr Russell's Imaginarium, the name alone is enough to entice! If you enjoy browsing vintage, art deco, retro, garagenalia and kitchenalia this is the place. The one thing I always admire and would buy in a flash, for Aimee, is the Betty Boop figurine based on the 1920's entertainer Baby Esther Jones. Here's the thing though, check out the tag on her foot.. it's Not for Sale, c'est la vie, isn't that always the way! Hope you're having a fab weekend, take care and stay safe... P.s. Boop-oop-a-doop :)
Hello, Betty!
ReplyDeleteI can imagine losing an hour or three in there!
I was gonna say that!!!!!
ReplyDeleteMy kinda place, G
THe sign on the front window advertises Art Deco, and the Betty Boop certainly delivers that. What an interesting place to explore.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful place to visit, thanks for sharing and nice weekend!
ReplyDeleteOh, I love Betty!
ReplyDeleteGood old Betty, didn't she have a squeaky voice? :) I could spend some good time in there exploring.
ReplyDeleteBrowser's paradise! Betty is fabulous.
ReplyDeleteWhat an amazing place. I love the little dog at Betty Boop's feet!
ReplyDeleteOh I would like to have a look there!
ReplyDeleteGoing through such shops is fun. There are some good old signs on the building.
ReplyDelete...Betty sure gets around!
ReplyDeleteHello! This is just my kind of shop too! Sometimes, I've found if the right person or the right price (maybe) is offered it has been possible to buy that not for sale item. It's like selling kittens or pups, you want those precious keepsakes to go to the right folks!
ReplyDeleteI would love to spend some time in that place!
ReplyDeleteVirginia once took us to a store in Birmingham like that. If they let you take pictures inside it's a gold mine.
ReplyDeleteJust the sort of place I would love to browse through. Have a great day Diane
ReplyDeleteAwesome
ReplyDeleteOh, wow, I should better not go in there, Grace! :-)
ReplyDeleteI have got to go there! OOPS! I forgot I'm way too far away from Oz. You've got an interesting place there. It would be nice to see it.
ReplyDeleteI'd like to wander around in there for a while with you, Grace!
ReplyDeleteI would be frightened to go into that shop for fear I would spend all my money!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun place that must be! I'd love to browse around. Betty Boop is adorable. Too bad it wasn't for sale.
ReplyDeleteBefore I read your narrative I immediately thought of Betty Boop! Must be a treat to the imagination to visit this place.
ReplyDeleteLove the Betty Boop!
ReplyDeleteI love places like this. Betty Boop also frequents Mel's Diner in SW Florida.
