The train driver.. people in their workplace!

I'm trying to think of one guy I know that wouldn't like to mess about with trains when they retire.. well ok there may be a few who would like to mess about with trains minus the three hundred kids involved :)

I was beginning to wonder what I might post for this month's theme day when fortuitously my gorgeous great niece had her three year old birthday party at Stirling Miniature Railway an event run by the Northern Districts Model Engineering Soc., held on the last Sunday of every month.. yesterday! So much fun.. recognize the redhead enjoying a ride below :)

Our train driver may well be retired but believe me with this many kids and adults 'young at hearts' along for the ride, he is still a worker, albeit in his fantasy workplace :) Hope you had/are still having a wonderful weekend, happy Monday, take care and stay safe.. p.s. this post made me think about you Andrew!

  1. A fun portrait for the theme day Grace. And I do recognize the redhead. I never really played with trains as a kid so I don't think I will take up that hobby in the future. But the train ride seems like fun.

  3. A fun day indeed, Grace!! Love the red head!! I was one of those -- years and years ago, not that bright, but red!! Hope you're ready for and have a great new week!!

  4. Yup, I do believe we've Red before! I'm not sure of this job. Working with little kids and moms could be a challenge! :) We've got little trains that run around our malls and the kids seem to like them.

Thanks for your kind comment. Another story tomorrow.

I'm a train driver on cargotrains and I'm happy that in my locomotive the chairs are much bigger.

    Kind regards,
    Marco

I didn't want to overdo the float pics. Maybe I'll scatter a few around for the next few weeeks.

  10. He does look like quite a character! My cousin's husband is into trains, both large and small.

  11. Um, I think I'd like to mess around with even more lenses when I retire. But I do understand the motivation here. There was a spectacular model train display in Carolyn's home town this weekend, which I'll edit and post one of these days.

  33. That is a heckuva way to spend your time in retirement. I would rather take the photos than drive the train.
