A few posts ago I took pics of a man in a boat fishing in the shallows, yesterday it was a man with a metal detector. Couldn't help wondering what he was searching for and then on Googling I found this video and it all became clear.. there is treasure to be found in them thar waters :) Wonder how many rings and earrings he found! Have any of you tried this? Happy Tuesday, take care and stay safe.. P.s. gorgeous treasure hunting companions he has there 💙
...I see this at the beaches in Maui every day!

ReplyDeleteCheers
Very nice photos, Grace!
ReplyDeleteThe dogs also enjoy the ocean ...
That gives a whole new meaning to the phrase "golden sands", but why not wait for the tide to go out?
ReplyDeleteOf course what you don't see in the shots are the great whites just off shore deciding if they want treasure hunter for lunch or not.
ReplyDeleteApparently people lose valuables at the beach. With my luck I would find old bottle tops.
ReplyDeleteAn interesting way to spend a day.
ReplyDeleteThe dogs are wondering if he found any treats. :)
ReplyDeleteNope, that's one I haven't tried but that guy in the video found quite a bit in a short time.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely image of retirement
ReplyDeleteI have never tried it but there is a quirky British TV show called the Detectorists which I love - I've watched them all.
ReplyDeleteSee them quite offten on the farmland around here, tend to find a lot of Roman Coins
ReplyDeleteMy grandpa used to take his metal detector to parks, always found neat stuff, lots of rings.
ReplyDeleteNot a bad idea to spend the day. What more could you ask for: freedom, the ocean, great companions, and perhaps finding treasures.
ReplyDeleteIt's a fun way to find some very nice jewelry, and more.
ReplyDeleteIt might be a sad story about him losing his wedding ring when he was swimming.
ReplyDeleteI seen people having metal dectector in our lakes around here.
ReplyDeleteWow, I never knew you could use them in water. Have only seen them at some archaeological digs. That would be a fun day at the beach.
ReplyDeleteBTW, do you have any dog beach? We took my granddog to a doggy beach north of Sydney and he loved it.
Haha, Grace (you commented already) yes, Ingo tried such a thing... on me :-)
ReplyDeleteI have to prevent Ingo from reading this, otherwise he´ll develop flippers next time in Perth!
People do this here too, but not in sea but in old rural areas and sometimes they find a real treasure as old golden coins.
ReplyDeleteFishing the modern way and it still delivers.
ReplyDeleteThey are illegal over here.
ReplyDeleteHello Grace,
ReplyDeleteAlways nice to see human fishing to valuables and jewelry.
I think they have sometimes luck.
Greetings, Marco
What a wonderful place and such fun times to be enjoyed for furry friends and their humans too!
