Conversations..

Were you bracing yourselves for another dolphin? Believe me there will be more :) Two shots from last week could not have been more different. How refreshing to see two gorgeous young women enjoying a lively conversation over breakfast.. not a phone in sight! While below two equally lovely ladies ignore both their food and each other while busy on theirs. Of course if I had chatted to both I wouldn't have had to pixelate their faces :) Here's to robust conversation! Happy Sunday, take care and stay safe..

  2. As the events of the last few days proved, if nuclear war ever happens, we'll spend our last moments tweeting about it. That latter pair might provide further proof!

  3. ...sadly the second pair have become the norm today!

  4. That is quite a contrast. It's sort of sad the we see more of the second photo than the first these days.

  5. True the world over, I guess. I love a chat with a friend over coffee or a meal. Wouldn't dream of pulling out my phone - except to share those photos that grans always have of their grandkids!

  6. It's fine to use your phone in idle time, or to finish what you are doing, but is something so important that you need phones out with food in front of you. My rule with my partner when eating out is once the food arrives, phones go away.

  7. It is nice to see someone actually talking!

  8. It is good to see some people still believe in conversation!

  9. I believe, quite sincerely, that cell phones should be shut down and locked away during mealtimes. There may be exceptions to that rule, but they should be rare. If you're the person in charge of a country, then maybe, perhaps, a cell phone should be available. But, from what I've seen of the moron in charge of the U.S., he should never be allowed to handle a cell phone, for any reason! :)

  12. The first 2 ladies were probably having more fun than the second 2. I just cannot understand why people need to constantly have their nose glued to their phone. Maybe more should fall into holes like the lady that made the news a few years ago or the fellow that walked in front of the train. All the digital crap has actually created a generation of really dumber people than those before them.

  13. Nice photos, Grace. It's nice to see there are some people who still know how to converse live and in person. Have a wonderful Sunday!

  15. It is so good to see people talking and engaging in conversation, like in your first photograph.

However, I fear that what you show in your second photograph has become more and more of what we see ... such a shame.

Hope you are having a good weekend

    All the best Jan

  16. The art of conversation seems to be fading away as everyone is fixated on their cell phone. The first two young women do not look happy. Perhaps their are sharing their problems.

  17. ugh...I think the rudest thing to do is to be on a cellphone while enjoying someone elses company. The ladies in the first photo have the right idea.

  18. A year or two ago I posted a photo of a little boy in a high chair staring down at a phone in his hands. Unfortunately, if we start parking phones in people's hands it's not long before they lose track of people. And look what happens: they become idiots and govern formerly decent nations.

  19. Glad you can still find young people who can talk without their phone in sight!

  20. You noticed very well the sign of this time. So sad to see all those introvert people, ignoring their surroundings...

  21. It's what they choose to do but I don't understand it. When I go out with a friend my phone is in my handbag. We enjoy a good chat over coffee or a meal.

  22. Chats seem to have gone by the wayside since mobile phones have stepped in!!!
    Hope all is well, Diane

  23. Oh, wee, Grace, the second pic sure makes me sick.
As do all these people who walk up at me, glued to their stupid cells and make at last second a move to avoid bumping into me. I plain hate that, how "important" can they be?! How stupid ... argh! I love that I´m old!!!

  24. You nailed it! I'm betting the two girls in the first photo experienced a better day out, then the other two busy on their phone, ignoring each other and hey letting their food get cold too!
