Yesterday on our first walk along the coast for 2018 I was lucky enough to capture one of a pair of Osprey that have their nest atop the communication tower at Whitfords Nodes. The osprey had had a tres successful fishing trip, look at the size of that fish! It kept looking up and around.. hah! As if anything would try and take it away from it :) They are magnificent hunting birds..bon appétit! Happy Tuesday, take care and stay safe.. P.s. Please bear with me as I try to catch up.
Hello there, beastie....
ReplyDeleteWow, exciting real life shots you got!!
ReplyDeleteLooks like the Osprey has a really tasty New Years dinner there. I prefer mine cleaned and broiled.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year Grace!
...yummy!
ReplyDeleteSo Thankful That You Were Out Walking!! Happy New Year!! Also, Really Dig The New Banner Beach Photo. We Are All looking Forward To Your Photographs In 2018.
ReplyDeleteMuch Love,
Cheers
These are magnificent shots of osprey in the wild (sort of wild)! We have a number of osprey here but I've not been able to capture any shots as good as these. In the south Florida golf course where I mostly played, we had a large osprey in a tree lining a canal and every once in awhile when we came by it would dive into the canal and bring up a fish. Fun to watch. Wishing for you a wonderful, healthy and very happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteYou captured the osprey at the perfect time, enjoying his dining alone time experience in a most reserved spot. Priceless!
ReplyDeleteHave a happy and healthy 2018, Grace.
Beautifully captured and clear enough to show it really is a fish and not someone's pet.
ReplyDeleteGreat shots, PDP. Our osprey are gone south.
ReplyDeletemmmm, now that looks like a Breakfast of Champions!

ReplyDeleteWell, on one hand. On the other I do feel a little sick now ;-) Am I glad I´m not an osprey.
Well those are remarkable photos, my compliments, you captured him very well having his meal. I have to look at your header when the rains are pouring down here all the time :)
ReplyDeleteYou are so good at capturing the most amazing photos! Happy New Year Grace. Janey
ReplyDeleteSmart bird eating healthy like that, and outdoors in the fine weather!
ReplyDeleteThat is quite a feast for that bird. It looks like he's a good fisherman.
ReplyDeleteLove the new header Grace. Great photos of the osprey.
ReplyDeleteA Happy New Year to you. Maybe we can catch up again in about 2 weeks or so, after J goes back to Sydney.
I hope you enjoyed your breakfast as much as he obviously did!
ReplyDeleteYou're not alone in playing catch-up!
Nice one, Grace. You and I are both showing raptors today, you an osprey and me an eagle. But mine wasn't eating. Have a wonderful 2018!
