Lock in the LOVE..
There are so many exciting things going on in Perth right now with the Fringe World Festival and the Perth Festival (check it out),both in full swing. I zipped into the city yesterday to see what was happening in the 'Pleasure Garden' but got side-tracked along the way. The Lock in the Love installation sitting two and a half metres high on Murray St. isn't your usual 'love-lock' situation.. more a foil for writing messages of good luck, good health, perhaps remembering a loved one past.. the $10 raised from each lock sold going to the Heart Foundation. It's going to be a GIANT weekend, literally, coming up.. looking forward to much ribald, risque burlesque and sharing it with you :) Happy Tuesday, take care and stay safe...

At the very least, it's a good cause, and doesn't do damage to bridges.
ReplyDeleteGreat idea!
ReplyDeleteA very clever idea and it beats the love-lock on bridges by far.
ReplyDeleteBrings new meaning to a 'lip lock' , I guess. xoxoxoxo
ReplyDeleteI 'love' it, Grace! ;-)
ReplyDeleteI continue to be amazed at all the great things that go on in your world, Grace!! And you capture them all SO well!! Thanks, as always, for sharing the fun!! Hope your new week is off to a great start!!
ReplyDeletehet is wel weer groots aangepakt.
ReplyDeleteTHERE you go! Clever and not vandalism!

That is not a bad idea ...
ReplyDeleteA good cause AND fun to look at!
ReplyDeleteI .. LOVE it ! that's funny !
ReplyDeleteVery cool.
ReplyDeleteThat's nice. Much better than love locks. And not permanent.
ReplyDeleteWow, you are so lucky, I've seen them all over the country except of course it isn't in Minnesota yet!
ReplyDeleteVery worthy of a donation. Meanwhile bridges around the world are collapsing under the weight of padlocks.
ReplyDeleteНарешті чудова ідея як застосувати замки кохання і не завантажувати мостів )))))

Neat to have a Fringe Festival in town. We need to drive about 20 miles to the closest one. I love the folks that show up in St. Augustine from Edinburgh. Great groups / musicians / performers.
ReplyDeleteNow that is a much better idea than those awful love locks I saw on the bridges in Paris! Can't wait to see more festival pictures Grace.
ReplyDeleteAt least in this place the locks are going on structures that have been specifically created for the purpose of holding locks, so there is no structural damage to bridges that were never intended to hold these locks.
ReplyDeleteLovely concept for a noble cause
ReplyDeleteAll You Need Is LOVE - There's nothing you can make that can't be made!
ReplyDeleteThat installation is so much better than the potentially destructive love locks on Paris bridges!
ReplyDeleteI would love to add something to that one.
ReplyDeleteLove the idea of participatory art. And a fund raiser to boot.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beaut idea to provide a dedicated spot for locks and for using it to raise funds such a good cause.
ReplyDeleteA much better way to show your love than attaching them to an historic bridge! I like that this supports charity as well.
ReplyDeleteBetter that charity benefits than the shops selling the locks.
ReplyDeleteFor a moment I thought Oh no, no more love locks anymore. I hate those stupid locks. But I see this is different and rather pretty. But beware of the love locks!
ReplyDeleteThat is so lovely! A fantastic idey and so much better than attaching them to bridges...
ReplyDeleteLovely ! :)
ReplyDeletewhat a great idea, love it!
ReplyDeleteThis is a good idea, not like putting padlocks were they don't belong, like on bridges or monuments!
ReplyDeleteFestival time, sure sounds like a lot of fun. Enjoy, who need to sleep anyway?
ReplyDeleteI'm laughing here because what VP said is exactly what I was thinking! ;))
ReplyDeleteVery clever! Tom The Backroads Traveller
ReplyDeleteIndeed there are lots of exiting things in Perth! I would love to drink coffee here too! :))
ReplyDeleteI always thought these locks of "love" were kinda silly; it's kinda like carving a heart with initials into a tree but less destructive unless of course you put a bunch of locks on a bridge in Paris and the bridge begins to sink into the Seine. Perth has a much better idea. Better yet - send a card! :)
