Flora and fauna in Queens Gardens..

Did I mention yesterday how beautiful Queens Gardens were? From the mass planting of hot orange/red Canna Lilies, which by the way remind me so much of my time in Africa.. to the cool blue and white of the Agapanthus set amongst the green of the palms and ferns.. I can see why the gardens are such a popular venue for wedding photos.

So many birds, coming...

... and going!

..and nervously nesting, I think I was getting a little too close for comfort!

There were, not surprisingly, people there also :) Some taking photos like moi, some just sitting and enjoying the gardens.. and others practicing the age old tradition of T'ai chi ch'uan, I've often thought about trying this, it looks like a serene way to exercise, but I believe it can give you a bit of a work out also.. have any of you tried it? Tomorrow I'll show you the other reason apart from Peter Pan that I came to visit Queens Garden, bit of an unrequited love story! Happy Friday, take care... p.s. can birds be described as fauna :)

  3. We still have a few flowers about until the frost comes. What you show here is just lovely. I feel warm all over. Thank you for that!

So lovely to see you appear in the comments here in Coventry. I am gradually getting back in blogging...slowly. Our family has moved from Melbourne area to China, so your photos show me something of what they are missing for the next 3 years. I'll be back more regularly now. Lauren xx

  9. Gorgeous flowers and love the birds. I believe fauna encompasses all of animal life so I'd include birds in that. What a gorgeous place to take a walk.

  18. Birds sure ain't flora, honey. Your aggies are out already? Not a peep of blue to be seen here yet. Don't cannas just look so good when massed in a large flower bed.

  19. We have lots of orange canna lilies here, too, and they look fabulous in the spring. At this time of year they are just gathering their strength. Unrequited love? Oooooh. Now we are getting personal.
