We set off on Saturday in search of a specific mural in Mt. Lawley, a 'hip' inner city suburb with an abundance of old and new street art.The mural I was after is as fresh as last week-end, painted during the Beaufort Street Festival's Laneway Project which unfortunately I missed.. two places at one time.. still impossible :) To cut a long story short, I searched, couldn't find.. will return with better directions!
After a seriously good coffee at The Flying Scotsman.. was heading back to the car when I spotted this piece in Lois Lane on the wall of Daily Planet. A collaboration back in June 2012 between Beastman, Numskull and Kyle Hughes-Odgers see more Beastman collaborations around Australia and beyond here. It's a really cool piece of work adorning an otherwise very long, very grey wall :) Hope you had/are still having a good weekend, happy Monday, take care and stay safe..
My wife, Lois, will be glad to know there is a lane named after her in Perth and I shall so inform her shortly. Love that long mural with the big foot. Lots of great color. I see you also paint your streets. Fun place where you live!
ReplyDeleteYou do indeed live in a colorful, delightful place and how fun!! I would love to visit there some day! Hope you have a great new week, Grace!!
ReplyDeleteYou can't go wrong with seriously good coffee.
ReplyDeleteLois Lane. Makes me think of Clark Kent and Superman. :-)
ReplyDeleteWhat a colorful mural!
ReplyDeleteYour reflection below is absolutely gorgeous !
Oh my, I think I want to emigrate to Perth - in your winter that is. I'd be dead and buried after about a week of summer! :-) Excellent Grace, I particularly love the two first shots!
ReplyDeleteWonderful mural, Grace!
ReplyDeleteWe have a Lois Lane here as well....
Schönes Wandbild am Haus.

ReplyDeleteOh, that wall would really be sad without that mural, Grace! What art can do, huh? (I put the bread-receipe on my blog in the comment btw, if you wanna try)
ReplyDeleteLois Lane, ha ha. Certainly colourful.
ReplyDeleteYou certainly have some funky places in your neck of the woods.

Actually, the part I like the best is the steampunk faux caryatid in the first photo.
ReplyDeleteLois Lane! Now, that is clever. Still not a fan of this stuff.
ReplyDeleteThat is really amazing, I love it.
ReplyDeleteWow, Superman's girlfriend in a work of art. I love it.
ReplyDeleteAnother lovely mural Grace.
ReplyDeleteNow that is my kind of street art. I love the colors and all the geometric designs . Fantastic. I also love the name of the lane. Is there a Superman street close by?
ReplyDeleteWas going to mention Super Man but everyone has beaten me to it! Stay cool.
ReplyDeleteI wonder how many Lois Lanes there are around the world? There's at least one other - in Adelaide! Greetings after a LONG break from visiting blogs - I'm back making up for lost time now!
ReplyDeleteI am glad I am not to only one who couldn't find any information about the mural :) We have a music duo of two ladies here with the name "Lois Lane".
ReplyDeleteVery nice, but where is Super Man? Tom The Backroads Traveller
ReplyDeleteThe mural is really amazing... What a lovely sharing !
ReplyDeleteThats a lot of mural to stew but a nice one. Thanks for showing.
ReplyDeleteThere is a street named Lois Lane here too!
ReplyDeleteA colourful street, Grace, that's good :)
ReplyDeleteI love the colours - it definitely makes a long grey wall look way more interesting!
ReplyDeleteThese are absolutely great!
ReplyDeletePerry White Road?

Superman Blvd?
mmmmmmmm beautiful things....!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteHappy artistic and funny!
ReplyDeleteWow, that's extensive! Fun to see.
ReplyDeleteLove all the great color. And someone has a good sense of humor with the street name. :)
ReplyDeleteThis is huge!! Lots to engage the eye and sense of humor. With that land name I half expected a nod to Superman. Too obvious I guess. Thanks, Grace, for contributing to this week's Monday Mural.
