I spent 10 minutes today
Trying to explain to my grandma what
A selfie was
It wasn't the easiest job in the world..

No I will not take a selfie with you
our angles aren't compatible...

It's not called a selfie
if you aren't the only one in the picture..
Quotes from Witty profiles.com. What about you, do you selfie.. I absolutely do not, not ever :) These three lovelies in Kings Park would have had a fab view of the city and the Swan River as their backdrop, not too shabby! Happy Wednesday, take care.. p.s. couldn't help noticing the three totally different styles of footwear.. it's a female thing :)
Seems like this is all one sees these days -- people and their selfies! How on earth did we manage before people had these phones??? I seldom see anyone walk past where I live without a phone in their ear or a headset!! Hope your week is going well!!
ReplyDeleteNo selfies here, Grace!
ReplyDeletemmmmmm Let's see. That's a mighty fine pair of green jeans though.
ReplyDeleteI seldom shoot selfies, but if I do it is never with my phone. Your photo is fine, and tells a story of three friends sharing a moment together.
ReplyDeleteWonderful post, Grace. Hard to believe how technology has progressed over the last 10/15 years and how our lives have change because of it.
ReplyDeleteLooks like they're having a good time. I'm glad you took the time to explain "selfie" to your grandmother. Us old folks ain't sure of all this new-fangled technology! :)
ReplyDeleteI don't think my arms are long enough.
ReplyDeleteI don't think I've ever taken one where I can be recognised!!! It's turning into a bit of ludicrous mania, IMHO...
ReplyDeleteI can never get the angle right; just as well, really. I noticed the jeans too; but not the footwear.
ReplyDeleteYou had a nice problem, hope your grandmother finaly understood.
ReplyDeleteThis foto is really lovely.
I don't do selfies. For some reason, I don't photograph. I also don't have a reflection in the mirror....
ReplyDeleteI take them with my horse so I guess it isn't a selfie. I remember the days of group photos with a tripod and timer or the old squeeze ball shutter release.
ReplyDelete'Selfies' ought to be banned as should the word 'selfie!'
ReplyDeleteI saw the feet right away and smiled. Then I read your
ReplyDeletecomment about them and I grinned widely :))
I was asking myself: What season do they have there
at the moment? One has cold feet and is wearing boots,
the other one seems to live in bright summer wearing flip-flops.
And the 3rd one just ran by I suppose :) Funny picture!
And no - I don't do selfies. At least I don't publish them
anywhere :))

It was amazing how many people we "selfiyng" while we were away. Some even had long extension poles to hold their smart phones! We have been know to "selfie" but I much prefer to ask a passer by to take our photo and they often ask us to return the favour. A good conversation starter.
ReplyDeleteNo I don't take the traditional selfie either, but I will catch my reflection in windows and etc, or it's fun sometimes to shoot myself in mirrors, but shoot in a way that you wouldn't think I actually took the picture! That's fun to me. I do like the photo, and was comparing the footwear and the slack selection, of these ladies. I'm not a real fan of flip flops out and about in public, because to me they make us look like their name, kind of sloppy and floppy! They are perfect for the beach! I had to laugh about explaining anything to our grandmothers! It just doesn't usually work very well! But we love them dearly!
ReplyDeleteThis too was worthy of a tweet and pin! Love this blog, Gracie.

I've occasionally caught myself in reflections, and have had someone take my shot, but I haven't done selfies.
ReplyDeleteI'm totally with you on this one. I never, ever selfie!
ReplyDeleteI have never done a "selfie" and I'm pretty sure, that I never will.
ReplyDeleteI like your photo and love how their shoes couldn't be more different from each other.
So glad this was not around to capture my youthful foibles, looks, bands, styles for ever!

=^..^= . <3 . >< } } (°>
You have captured the moment beautifully!!
ReplyDeleteI was never that stuck on myself to want to take a photo of me. I work behind the lens.
ReplyDeletePeople over a certain age should not be encouraged to take and share selfies.
ReplyDeleteNope. I never take a traditional selfie, but on occasion I find myself reflected in a photograph.
ReplyDeleteI don't do selfies either, I find the younger generation seem too obsessed with their own image!
ReplyDeleteLove the different types of footwear, can't imagine why anyone would wear boots in summer though...
Selfie, Groupfie, can't remember when I took a picture of myself.
ReplyDeleteWhenever children have been given cameras they've always tried to photograph themselves. Then they grew out of it. Other things that little children do include wanting to go out in entirely inappropriate footwear.
ReplyDeleteTime to grow up, ladies.
Yours sincerely,
Grumpy Old Man.
I like this photo Grace, I think the whole "selfie stuff" is so stupid. To make photos of yourself all the time, how weird is that!
ReplyDeleteI'm always behind the camera :-)
ReplyDeleteNice and trendy scene, Grace !
I don't take selfies for fear of scaring my camera. ;))
ReplyDeleteI find myself doing more and more selfies. Of course, I was taking selfies via self-timer on my DSLR -- and running and jumping into position -- long before the term 'selfie' (and smart phones) came about. My most recent selfie? Last week with Nik Wallenda, who is known for taking selfies during his highwire walks --> https://twitter.com/JanThornburg/status/532592628366573568
ReplyDeleteLOL, I go with Sami, Grace! In all...
ReplyDeleteI shoot selfies every now and then but only with areal camera of course.
