Don't you love the mossy greens and rusty orange colours that manifest on rocks after many years of water coursing over their surface. If there happens to be an autumn leaf flowing by and a strange 'Nemo like' looking reflection centre stage, all the better :). I took these shots yesterday while at Pinnaroo Valley Memorial Park saying hello to Mum and Dad, was also drawn to the rustic, gnarly look of the paper bark tree below, how good would it be if we could shed our old skin like that :)
...and then it rained ! It's probable that I enjoyed it more than the Coots ( makes me smile that name) swimming below.. walking in a shower is tres enjoyable after a very long dry spell don't you think! Hope you have a fab weekend, it's going to be wet, wet, wet here in Perth but not cold, looking forward to it! Take care..
My contribution to WEEK-END REFLECTIONS
Wow! Such a lovely place!
ReplyDeleteI shall think of you in our own weekend showers, Mon Ami

We are to have a warm sunny weekend which I am looking forward to so much, Grace! Enjoy your rain. ;-)
ReplyDeleteOh, such a beautiful place!!! Your captures are fantastic -- as always!! How wonderful to spend some time there!! Hope you have a wonderful weekend, Grace!! Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteMarvelous old tree.
ReplyDeleteDespite the rain (or maybe because of it) I really like the last shot. Love how the raindrops create a pattern on the water! Great!

We have old coots here but they aren't birds. Have a nice fall weekend!
ReplyDeleteI look at these images and can almost feel and smell the rain, Grace!
ReplyDeleteYou should Google "and then it rained".
ReplyDeleteDespite that slightly eerie eye :-) this is so soothingly beautiful! I bet the sound is calming too!
ReplyDeleteYou are right; there's nothing like water coursing over you after a long dry spell! Your photos are delicious. I was wondering what caused that reflection in the first shot...tres interessant.
ReplyDeleteI do not want rain tomorrow, though, 'cause I'm gonna be on a golf course!
Oh yes, I couldn't agree more. When it rains here I want to be out in it. Beautiful water shot at the top and yes, I really do wish I could shed this old skin like that tree does. That would be great.
ReplyDeleteLove that top shot. The center of the rock looks like an Australian opal. We got one for Carolyn many years ago in Sydney. It's still a treasure.
ReplyDeleteWonderful pictures, Gracie. Particularly love that top shot - no all of them! #francesmacaulayforde
ReplyDeleteIt's been raining all day here too but not that much. Great shots.
ReplyDeleteWhat a delightful spot. Rain! We can share in that...plenty here too. Have a good weekend :).
ReplyDeleteI love autumn and I love your water pictures.
ReplyDeleteThis serie is perfect to illustrate : water=life ; so dynamic !
ReplyDeletePlenty of the wet stuff over here this morning too. I love these little close-up landscapes.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful reflections!
ReplyDeleteThe nature is fantastic .. awesome photos...
ReplyDeleteHmmmm, rain! Nature is so strange and beautiful on your side of the world ! the 2 first shots are very strong and unusual to my eyes.
ReplyDeleteHave a nice week-end, dear Gracie !
"...Saying hello to mum and dad..."
ReplyDeleteMum and dad live in the river....?
Lovely shots of the rain and coots!
ReplyDeleteGreat shots, Grace, I like especially the first one.
ReplyDeleteRain or not rain, I wish you a happy weekend!
Some rain will do for nature, but I hate to have it on my head.
ReplyDeleteLove the water motion on the top shot. Wonderful!
ReplyDeleteRaining over here, too now. Awww. Nice post.
ReplyDeleteNext time I´ll visit Bro I´ll make a stop at my parents, too. Miss them so much at times...
Love this series of pics!
ReplyDeleteA worthy series of photos, Grace. Connecticut gets plenty of rain, so scenes like this could be from here, too.
ReplyDeleteLovely "wet" photos Grace. I didn't know those birds were called "Coots". Pinnaroo is beautiful, just doesn't look like a cemetery. I went there last year but never posted photos in my blog about that visit, will have to do that soon.
ReplyDeleteLovely in spite of the rain!
ReplyDeleteFirst shot is my favorite!
ReplyDeleteNice scene which you had taken!
Thanks to post.
Coots are fun birds.
ReplyDeleteThe first is how to Impressionism.
