And then.. it rained!

Don't you love the mossy greens and rusty orange colours that manifest on rocks after many years of water coursing over their surface. If there happens to be an autumn leaf flowing by and a strange 'Nemo like' looking reflection centre stage, all the better :). I took these shots yesterday while at Pinnaroo Valley Memorial Park saying hello to Mum and Dad, was also drawn to the rustic, gnarly look of the paper bark tree below, how good would it be if we could shed our old skin like that :)

...and then it rained ! It's probable that I enjoyed it more than the Coots ( makes me smile that name) swimming below.. walking in a shower is tres enjoyable after a very long dry spell don't you think! Hope you have a fab weekend, it's going to be wet, wet, wet here in Perth but not cold, looking forward to it! Take care..

  4. Despite the rain (or maybe because of it) I really like the last shot. Love how the raindrops create a pattern on the water! Great!

  8. Despite that slightly eerie eye :-) this is so soothingly beautiful! I bet the sound is calming too!

  9. You are right; there's nothing like water coursing over you after a long dry spell! Your photos are delicious. I was wondering what caused that reflection in the first shot...tres interessant.

I do not want rain tomorrow, though, 'cause I'm gonna be on a golf course!

  10. Oh yes, I couldn't agree more. When it rains here I want to be out in it. Beautiful water shot at the top and yes, I really do wish I could shed this old skin like that tree does. That would be great.

  11. Love that top shot. The center of the rock looks like an Australian opal. We got one for Carolyn many years ago in Sydney. It's still a treasure.

  26. A worthy series of photos, Grace. Connecticut gets plenty of rain, so scenes like this could be from here, too.

  27. Lovely "wet" photos Grace. I didn't know those birds were called "Coots". Pinnaroo is beautiful, just doesn't look like a cemetery. I went there last year but never posted photos in my blog about that visit, will have to do that soon.
