A lifesaving cuppa!
Never has the expression 'I'd give my life for a cuppa' been more relevant. Every year around May/June the Cancer Council encourages Australians to put the kettle on, get together with friends and organize a 'biggest morning tea' for exactly that reason, to help save lives. Every year my friend Jenny holds a biggest 'afternoon' tea and delights her guests with scrumptious delicacies both sweet and savoury served on the prettiest china.. yesterday was no exception and although the weather was stormy and bleak 37 ladies gathered together, sipped tea, had fun and by way of raffles and donations raised well over a thousand dollars.. well done ladies and bravo Jenny! Happy weekend, take care and stay safe.. p.s. below Aimee's contribution.. yum!

Oh, YUM, indeed!!! And what a great event to host -- and to attend!!! Thanks for sharing, Grace! Hopefully more and more people will be doing this for such a great and much needed event!!
ReplyDeleteYum x 20= Yummy!
ReplyDeleteA VERY beautiful cup and saucer. I think tea always tastes best in a cup like that. :-)
ReplyDeleteIt's great to see that the teacup is still being used.
ReplyDeleteSo many have switched to the mug.
(I love the colorful cakes!)
I can practically taste the little cakes!
ReplyDeleteOh did you save one for me? :-)
ReplyDeleteWhat a marvellous fund raising effort!
ReplyDeleteThank you for dropping by my blog. I'm happy to report that the eye appointment went very well. Thanks so much for asking!
A very civilized and ladylike way to raise money for a good cause.
ReplyDeleteNothing like raising money for a good cause while having fun yourself. So, why is it only the ladies get to enjoy tea and cakes? They look yummy, except for the ball bearings.
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful cup.
ReplyDeleteI'm back. My vacation in Switzerland ended. There the countryside is so very beautiful, and I could have been there forever.
Hugs
I think I remember you posted it last year too, Grace! I'm glad the good work continues.
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like a fine event and a successful one, too. I would opt for a cuppa coffee, though! :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a great way for a very worthy cause!!!!!
ReplyDeleteAn excellent cause and an excellent excuse to gather with friends and not count the calories in the goodies.
ReplyDeleteOh, those cupcakes could be the death of me.
ReplyDeleteExcellent cause and well done to Jenny and all the friends that attended.
ReplyDeleteGiven half a chance I would be there with bells on. Throwing a "proper" tea party is almost a lost art - Jenny is a champ.
ReplyDeleteAimee did good! Looks like a good time for sure!
ReplyDeleteSuch a good way to raise funds - well done all.
ReplyDeleteHappy to raise a cuppa!

ReplyDeleteYou helped this great cause in a fabulous way !
ReplyDeleteJenny is very special! Such a worthy cause!
ReplyDeleteAimee's contribution looks delicious! This is something we in other nations should be doing....

ReplyDeleteNice work, and I could probably eat one of those cakes.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great thing to do!
ReplyDeleteIt should be international.
Looks pretty!
