Unfurled brellas.....!
When the red umbrellas of Bella Fonte remain unfurled you know it's got to be cold, too cold for Perthites to dine al fresco that's for sure. With a high yesterday of 15C it feels like winter has arrived at last! The shallow, child friendly beach below is so popular in the school holidays and even up until last week was busy with budding sandcastle builders, but after the storms on Tuesday the usually pristine beach was strewn with seaweed and only the robust braved the elements. Luckily there is so much more than swimming to keep the kids happy and the marina was chockers (full :)). To think some people were against the marina being built, not me of course, who wouldn't want this world class venue five minutes from home! Hope your week is moving along well, take care.....

With temps here at 95 degrees Fahrenheit, it's nice to hear from anyone who is experiencing cooler temps.
ReplyDeleteI wish we had winters with 15C!
ReplyDeleteI love your captures for the day -- as always!! The red umbrellas look inviting -- even folded up on a gray day!! It's gray and cool here today, but it won't last long! Love seeing kids playing on the beach!! Hope your week is going well, Grace! Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteStill pretty, can't tell how cold it is from here!
ReplyDeleteYour Perth seems a perfect place to live!
ReplyDeleteI already have a friend there-
Bon Ami in fact :-)
Aloha, G
I realise I'm never happy but I actually wish I could have your weather just now! :-)
ReplyDeleteThere seems to be a bit of sunshine though because the water is glistening slightly! And I actually like beaches with seaweed (up to a certain point of 'smelliness'!)
Cold? That's almost 60!
ReplyDeleteBah! Wimps!
well! I see the season is changing... now it's our time for summer,
ReplyDeletesorry :-)
ciao Grace
Ha! 15 degrees sounds wonderful to me. Here it is 34 and very humid so feels like 44. Icky!
ReplyDeleteAnd here we are sweating our balls off. 5th day straight big time heat wave up and down the East Coast.
ReplyDeleteIt is strange how 15C can feel really cold when you live in a temperate climate. Now we think of 15C as quite pleasant! The red umbrellas against the building look super!
ReplyDeleteMerci beaucoup, Grace, for giving the good temps over to us - I´ll take care to give `em back in time! 28C here, awww, finally!
ReplyDeleteDunno if I`d care for an Italian Restaurant, though - stated from the land of no Pie (can´t wait for that! - Or - don´t judge me - Chicken Treat!).
Umbrellas are up here - against the sun :-)
Happy "little Friday" (as Thursday is called over here lately).
Here in Spain, we are at 40 ° C temperature ... in some places.
ReplyDeleteNot good time to be in the terraces, there.
Beautiful place.
The Imagination of children discover new games.
Hugs and kisses.
15˚C in winter - that patio would be full of people if it was here! We have 35˚C at 5 pm here in Toronto today.
ReplyDeleteWho needs the weather bureau? Perth weather plus one and a half to two days equals Melbourne weather. Th only difference would be the umbrellas would be unfurled here and people sitting under them. Nothing stops Melburnians drinking espresso outside.
ReplyDeleteNot too chilly for a few hardy souls to adventure out bare-legged I see. At 15c I would be bundled up with long pants, neck scarf and coat. But, as I can see from RedPat's comment, not everyone thinks 15c is cold.
ReplyDeleteGreat shot - never mind the temperature!
ReplyDeleteThat shot of the umbrellas is just beautifully composed!
ReplyDeleteGrace! what a totally br-ill-iant shot! I hooted with laughter over chockers as without a simple explanation you would have been swamped with queries!
ReplyDelete15 degrees........ I, would love it!
I could use temperatures like that about now!
ReplyDeleteGood shots, Grace!
Great shots, as always.
ReplyDeleteHmm...since it's summer down there when it's winter here, maybe I'll head for the Southern Hemisphere in December....
Unfurled. Furled. Unfurled. Furled. I have never figured out which way is when the umbrellas are tied up. But, in red, they are colorful!
ReplyDeleteEven furled, the umbrellas are so striking in the streetscape! And even in greying light, the beach area always looks beautiful!
ReplyDeleteNice Red hue!
ReplyDeleteWe had a short but rather violent thunderstorm pass over us today in Calgary. Home tomorrow and back into the boiler. 15 sounds like such a nice winter temperature.
ReplyDeleteGreat photos! Here in Hamburg/Germany we have summer and 30°C at the moment and for me is it too hot!Honestly I prefer more colder temperatures like yours at the moment!
ReplyDeleteHave a nice day!
What, no space heaters for the terrace? Tut, tut.
ReplyDeleteOh they're RED! And that's a GOOD thing!!!
ReplyDeleteIn winter here, they would be cloaked in whiteness.
ReplyDeleteThe umbrella repetition is so cool. Well spotted.
ReplyDeleteThe unfurled umbrellas are an interesting way to forecast weather.
ReplyDeleteI have to say that your Winter temps sound pretty good to me (so far). Love that scene on the beach. Looks like such a nice place to go for a walk any time of the year.
ReplyDeleteI'm always trying to get bikes in my compositions images and you got a fabulous composition here, love your pictures! :)
ReplyDeleteLéia
I think I want to dine there during summer!!! And looks like a fun spot for the kids, and the kids at heart!!!
