The first thing that caught my eye as I walked down to the boat slips at Ocean Reef Marina & Sea Sports Club late yesterday afternoon were the huge thunderous waves smashing over the sea wall. Finding myself a pleasing point of view I sat and waited for the imminent crash and explosion that I thought might make an appealing image. I waited and ....., well just as I was on the point of giving up in frustration.. whoooosh! at last! Hopefully it was worth the wait :)) While I sat patiently (?) I passed the time taking shots of the preening Darter drying it's wings, they certainly aren't camera shy, it's like they're silently miming 'look at me, look at me'. By the time I packed up to leave the sun was heading well on it's way out for the day! How long have you waited for a 'certain' image and did you feel it was worth it? Happy Thursday, take care.....

These photos, all of them, are fantastic. The water over the sea wall looks so dramatic and yet the birds don't seem bothered. Pretty sunset too. Super collection, Grace!

The shot was very much worth waiting for - wonderfully dramatic! But when I saw the title I thought perhaps it was you who was preening. There's always tomorrow :)
ReplyDeleteWow, fabulous shots, Grace!
ReplyDeleteOne better than the other.
Yes, definitely worth the wait.
ReplyDeleteOh, Grace!! These are incredible, fantastic and all those other matching adjectives!! I can't find enough!!! And how very well worth the wait it was!! An awesome way to end any day! Thanks for sharing the beauty and the fun with those happy birds!!

ReplyDeleteNice group of shots, Grace. Well worth the wait!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, I love those crashing wave shots. They are quite spectacular and that bird posing for you just makes the whole image. I'm going to California in two weeks and I hope I get to see some crashing waves while I'm there. Although, waves tend to be more dramatic in the winter months than the summer months.
ReplyDeleteGrace, those are very, very stunning pics - can you teach me how to do that? Amazing, those colors! I have a Nikon as "real" cam, 921... gah, I´ll bring it along, maybe you´ll have a look at it?
ReplyDeleteIn the meantime... awww - like vraiment! Really great!
Wonderful image full of beauty.
ReplyDeleteHugs and kisses.
Gorgeous shots.Compliments!!!
ReplyDeleteHe is a bit of a drama queen isn't he? Didn't you yell at him, less is more? The waves are great.

ReplyDeleteClever girl! What totally fabulous shots Grace! You must be pleased, oui? :)
ReplyDeleteYou have four wonderful photographs today, Grace. The sunset is especially nice, but I also like the waves crashing on the rocks with the pier and bird in the foreground.
ReplyDeleteI am sometimes a bit short of patience, so waiting for the perfect moment doesn't happen very often. But, on occasion I have waited as long as an hour for clouds to move or for someone to move into or out of a picture, etc.
That sunset is amazing!
ReplyDeleteThese are just gorgeous. I particularly like the first one - violence, peace and wonderful perspective.
ReplyDeleteSome lovely shots there. Well worth the wait. How do you get the birds to pose for you?
ReplyDeleteI am still waiting for a really good shot!
Wowee Grace. Those first two shots are just tremendous. Love the way you have caught the sunlight on the pier and the tumultuous wave background add such atmosphere. Bravo.

ReplyDeleteAnd I love the big bird.
