Call of the wild.....!!

When I go to the Zoo, usually with Aimee or my friend (and sometimes mentor!) it's always a challenge to see if you can take a picture and somehow make it look as if it hasn't actually been taken at the Zoo. I think I've mentioned before that the big cats are my favorite, hasn't he got the most beautiful face, the fact that he could open his mouth and eat you is immaterial...so what do you think,  could I have been on safari in the middle of Africa when I shot these. I actually lived in Central Africa for many years and unfortunately never got as close to the big cats as this, it would have been such a thrill to see them in their natural environment....and one of these days I am going to be brave enough to actually do an all black and white post.....!!
I'd like to say a HUGE congratulations to Cadel Evans for his incredible win in the Tour de France what an amazing achievement.....!!

  1. La première photo est géniale, on se croirait dans ma jungle (la terrible jungle) prêt a se faire attaquer (tient il ressemble a mon chat, quand il va attaquer ma chaussette ;o)) )

  5. PS. Have you seen my lion walk shots? They behaved so much like playfull kitties you had to keep reminding yourself that one swipe of those paws could take your face off.

  8. Wow, these shots are great. I do exactly the same thing when I visit the zoo. The last time I went I got some really great shots of the tiger. It's always hit or miss getting the shots you want but, I always get one or two I like.

  9. Well shot indeed, but the King Of The Beasts has an expression like he's had his picture taken quite enough, thank you.

  18. Beautiful shots. I have mixed feelings about zoos and even more mixed feelings about the Tour de France. One I find it boring to the extreme and two, they're all doped.

  19. I like big cats, but they look better in picture. My compliments to Cadel Evans, we missed his triumph for a couple of days.

  20. Gave me a slight shock at first. Didn't know they had lions in Perth, (not that I've ever been there of course) Yes, I agree - lion faces look so wise and kind and interesting. You would never think they were so dangerous.

  21. I would say that this is the photo safari. Looks that way. The pictures are fascinating. I would not be a food lion. Still, I admire. Therefore, we have little beast in the form of cats at home.

  22. i would believe you if you said you'd taken these on safari.

  23. Fantastic shots! If I didn't know you have visited the zoo I would say these were images from a safari somewhere in my favourite continent. So, you have lived in Africa?! I spent 1,5 years there and have come back several times to visit other countries. And yes, I was this close to big cats! :-)
