'A good golf partner is one who's always a little bit worse than you are'..

That would be me, except it wouldn't be a little bit worse it would be abysmally worse.. I've only ever played three games of golf many years ago, to cut a painful story short I don't have the temperament for it, which is a shame because P loves it :) That doesn't mean to say I don't appreciate the sight of a beautifully designed and maintained golf course. Took these shots very early yesterday morning at the Araluen Golf Resort (good coffee) for all the keen golfers out there you can see the golf course flyover video here.. you will enjoy the view!

It was a rainy, cloudy overcast day but when the sun burst through for short spells the greens and surrounding trees looked amazing.. surprisingly few golfers out on the course..

This I think is the ninth hole below, I watched three balls successfully sail over the lake to land on the putting green, of the fourth ball there was nothing to be seen but ripples on the water.. didn't see any golf clubs go flying through the air :)

Below the same group of four teeing off for the second nine, clubhouse in the background. Have you ever looked at the word GOLF backwards..  just saying :) No, seriously I do get it.. it's an every game challenge between you and that little white ball with only one winner, but the fresh air, walking and companionship are all good! Happy Friday, take care and stay safe.. P.s. 'the size of the divot is directly proportional to the frustration felt'.. sound familiar :)

  1. Quite dramatic skies, Grace!

I don't get the appeal of it. I agree with the old saying, "golf is a good walk wasted."

  2. My travels often take my alongside and across golf courses, but I've yet to see anyone who looks as though they have any aptitude for the game. Somehow though these rain-sodden islands produce champions - where do they all come from?

  3. That is a beautiful, lush golf course. I gave the game up in my teen years. Being a teenager was frustrating enough. I did not need any more, so I gave up this game. I know what Mark Twain meant when he described the game as, "a good walk spoiled."

  10. Looks lush and beautiful. I don't play golf, I played miniature golf once and lost the ball, I hit it too hard, it ricocheted off something and disappeared forever. :)

  11. You might not have the temperament but, I don't have the coordination. I can't hit that little white ball for all the money in the world. However, I do find a day spent in these type of surroundings quite rewarding. This place in gorgeous.

  12. I'm not a golfer so you would have someone worse than you if I played. That has got to be the most beautiful golf course I've ever seen.

  14. Whether one plays the game or not, a golf course everywhere is always a great place for a delightful walk! This is just such a place! But, that said, I'm more of a mini-golfer!

  15. I am amused that you don't say that you don't like golf, but that you don't have the temperament for the game. Could I guess after a bad shot you might fling the club?

  16. It is a lovely golf course, but, then again, most golf courses are beautiful. Interesting to read the comments above. I must be a rare photographer who also plays golf. I hope my photography is better than my golf.

  19. The golf course looks spectacular, but I have no patience for golf either, too slow and boring for me!
    Have a great weekend Grace.

  20. Oh, I want to play there. Beautiful course. I'd spend all my time and money on that one. Love the quote, too. Lots of truth to it!

  21. A golf course I have never used, only seen it when passing by, it looks beautiful. They keep the grass so green and short, like velvet.

  22. I hope that Lowell, the golfer, sees this! Perhaps he'll fly to Perth and give you a few lessons!
