Took a quick pic of the exotic beauty here while having lunch in Rolld downstairs from Aimee's office in 140 William last week. Incredible Vietnamese style street food.. Aimee and I had the Goi Vietnamese salad both healthy and scrumptious, leaving us feeling virtuously satisfied :) Haven't been able to find out who the artist is, should have asked but didn't, have a feeling we will be back to find out.. nothing to do with the food :) Hope you had or are still having a great weekend, happy Monday, take care and stay safe...
Cool art for the place, Grace!
ReplyDeleteI find that painting very attractive. When teaching American history, every year I invited Vietnam vets to visit my class and talk about the war. It was a great experience for the kids...as the vets came in full uniform and brought various artifacts from Vietnam (no weapons, though!). One of the things I remember most clearly is that they said in those days cats were considered a delicious treat. One of the soldiers told me that if you saw a Mama-San running down the street with a machete, she was doubtless chasing a cat for dinner. I wonder if cats are still eaten over there?
ReplyDelete...Miss Saigon?
ReplyDeleteBeautiful mural. I miss the Vietnamese food I used to get at work and at a Vietnamese restaurant in Roanoke, Virginia.
ReplyDeleteSuch lovely art to accompany dining!! Vienamese restaurants here are getting better and better but there seems to be a preference for Thai food.
ReplyDeleteSuch a stunning piece of artwork adding so much atmosphere and character to the dining area.
ReplyDeleteThis is an incredible painting! Looks like a good place to uncover some delicious food as well!
ReplyDeleteVery glamorous, although she looks a little annoyed. :-)
ReplyDeleteThat is quite a portrait.
ReplyDeleteInteresting art. Looks like a fun place for lunch.
ReplyDeleteNever had Vietnamese food. If all works out right next weekend I will be in Medford Oregon and maybe I will get chance to try some new foods.

ReplyDeleteShe looks a bit mysterious.. Nice mural, Grace!
ReplyDeleteShe has a bit of an "arrogant" look to me, Grace!
ReplyDeleteThat salad you and Aimee had sounds interesting ...
ReplyDeleteI like the mural.
All the best Jan
Love it! She does have kind of a condescending look about here though.
ReplyDeleteOkay, this settles my quandary. I'm going out for Pho tonight!
