'Chandeliers are marvels of drop dead showiness, the jewellery of architecture..
Peter York...
I'm not going to tell you where this fabulous multi-bulb'ed (sp?) chandelier is today, I'll save that for tomorrow but I'm sure Perthites who read the blog will guess straight away.. it's one of my favourite buildings in the city that is sadly no longer used for the purpose it was built. You can see the splendid original parquet flooring reflected in the mirrored ceiling and in the shot below under the chandelier the wrought iron stair case leading to the second floor, not used now I'm sure, replaced by lifts and escalators. A belated happy St. Patrick's Day for yesterday.. bon weekend, take care and stay safe...P.s. own up.. who has a chandelier in their home, they were tres fashionable at one time :)
I'm sure I've seen this chandelier somewhere but can't figure out where!
ReplyDeleteIt's beautiful!!
Have a great weekend Grace.
That would be a nightmare to clean, but irresistible for the photographer!
ReplyDeleteRegarding your comment: I'm trying to figure out what's amiss with the layout at my page. I've got one or two other ideas.
...interesting! I saw several grouping of bare bulbs like this in Maui.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful chandelier. If I hang a bare bulb from the ceiling does that mean I have a chandelier in my house?
ReplyDeleteIt's a nice modern one, Grace! The sparkles of all of them are thrilling to see all lit up - even the really ornate ones!
ReplyDeleteSpectacular chandelier. I love it. None at my house, several ceiling fans but no chandeliers.
ReplyDeleteToo heavy to use as earrings.
ReplyDeleteThat terrific chandelier looks even better in all the mirrors around it. Great shots.
ReplyDeleteWhat a magnificent piece!

What a wonderful chandelier.
ReplyDeleteAmazing! I would love to take a few pics of that myself. :-)
ReplyDeleteWow! Beautiful :-)
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't want to have to clean that! I remember my mom taking ours apart and putting it in our dishwasher....
ReplyDeleteWow, that chandelier is really cool. It's neat when people have the ability to create something outside the box like this chandelier. I do woodwork. I like to make furniture like chairs and tables from good wood. I have never sold any of it, but want to some day. Maybe after a bit of practice, I will do that.
