It's been a few weeks since we were last in the city, over the Christmas period it was all about enjoying time at home and the beach with family, so when I heard that Elizabeth Quay was now home to a new 'handcrafted Venetian' carousel I was pretty keen to have a squizzy.. who doesn't love a carousel right! It is indeed très charmant don't you think.
The shot above with the city in the background and below looking through to the Swan River. You can read where, why and who commissioned the carousel here. Can you tell from the light in these shots that on Monday when I took them it was 37C, I know right, I sure pick my days to head into the city :) Happy Wednesday, take care and stay safe.. P.s. will be looking to take some pics of the carousel in the evening real soon..
Gotta love those old carousels. They are a work of art.
ReplyDeleteVery cute colorful
ReplyDeleteThere can never be too many carousels.
ReplyDeleteQuite a grand carousel!
ReplyDelete37C ! Maybe they can make that thing spin around really, really fast.
ReplyDeleteOh how joyous!
ReplyDeleteCarousel horses are carver's works of art. They are a perfect subject for your photography. Well done!
ReplyDeleteIt's totally gorgeous, wish I could have a ride on it. Lucky horses, each one has a lovely red pompom. When it gets to 37C, is it hot and sticky or just plain hot? If it gets that hot here, it's always with high humidity making everyone cross and bad tempered!!!!
ReplyDeleteThis carousel is lovely!
ReplyDeleteIt's a beauty, Grace!
ReplyDeleteWhat a colorful addition to the area! Photo opportunities abound with a colorful carousel in the picture.
ReplyDeleteWhat an elegant carousel, is the music also Venetian? A blue sky and hot weather - STOP, you're driving me crazy, it's freezing here in Blighty!
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous sight and what gorgeous horses. I'd ride that any day of the week, if they'd let me!
ReplyDeleteLook at the fancy horses! I too absolutely love a carousel!
ReplyDeleteHmm, Wednesday. So it's back to the future, eh? :-)
ReplyDeleteThat is a very colourful carousel! It's a lovely piece of art that offers rides, you can't beat that Grace.
ReplyDeleteIs there anything more exciting for a child than a ride on a carousel. It should look great when lit at night.
ReplyDeleteTotally love the pony pompoms.
ReplyDeleteThe carousel is so pretty. It looks especially lovely framed in the building and sky blues.
ReplyDeleteIt looks lovely and old fashioned. Is it a renovated one or a new one built in the old style? You sure have been having some hot days over there.
ReplyDeleteBelas fotografias cheias de cor.
ReplyDeleteUm abraço e boa semana.

ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty carousel.
ReplyDeleteExcellent images, Grace, they make the carousel even more beautiful !
ReplyDeleteIs it still there, Grace? We only saw it in the dark and the article says throughout Dec...? It´s beautiful and Ingo´s connection to Italian things in Australia just again is there ;-)
ReplyDeleteTo je úžasné. Kolotoč mezi mořem a mrakodrapy. Ano, kolotoč je jako život. Moc hezké a veselé fotografie.
ReplyDeleteA very wonderful experience to ride!
ReplyDeleteIt is a beauty and it must be great to have a merry go round
