Wine, surf and black gold.....!

Who remembers, or should I say who's willing to own up to remembering (personally I was just a child haha!) that line in The Beverly Hillbillies theme song where they sing about discovering 'gold, black gold, Texas tea' in other words oil! This is my much more delicious version, 'gold, black gold, food for the gods'..these gold wrapped ingots of chocolate line the walls of the Margaret River Chocolate Company's Perth City Concept Store on Murray Street. Although the Margaret River region is known world wide as a first class wine growing region, claiming over 20% of the Australian premium wine market, and if the surf can attract the likes of  Kelly Slater ( cool video) it must be rad, but for a chocoholic like moi there is 'pas compétition'! If you have a 'choccy' moment in your day, think of me, happy Thursday, take care.....

  3. "Gold" is the perfect word to describe any choccy - these look divine! I love how you captured them in their splendor:) Well, I shouldn't but we're heading towards lunch here and I'm suddenly feeling like a bit of choccy, yum!

  7. That should be illegal! Yikes. I could go crazy(ier) in a place like this. Not that I'm addicted or anything...

  8. Oh, I do remember the tv serie. It is long ago, I even think I watched it with my parents as a teenager still living at home. I am a great chocolate lover and now we have all those chocolates in the shops for the December season. It is a temptation for me.

  11. I am not too to proud to say I remember watching and Elly May was someone I wanted to be. I know, but she was pretty cool.
MR Chocolate Factory is on my list of places to go if I ever get down to Cowaramup. Maybe next month...I'm saving my coins.

  13. Great tv show. I was somewhere a couple of days ago and I couldn't believe the sizes of the boxes for chocolate.

  14. I was never fond of that show, but I do love chocolate, really good chocolate. When it is extraordinary, I can savor a bite or two, but am not tempted to overindulge. (Don't get me started on pastries, however!)

  15. We toured a small, premium quality chocolate factory when we were in Seattle a few weeks ago. No bullion. It was awfully interesting but I'm one of those people who lack the chocolate-craving gene. I think you had a better time.

I'm sending you an email shortly with an Australia question.

  23. Oh my...that looks like heaven! Although I'm a chocoholic, sadly for me, I cannot eat chocolate right now for dietary reasons. Darn! I wonder which bars tempted you...
